Interesting how one guy has a broken leg and he's working his *** off to play, and other one is nursing a hangnail.

Josephine has appeared in more commercials this year than he has in games. Guess we know where his priorities are. I bet his teammates are proud of him.

Not is it a real joke of Mauer. The whole situation is utterly riciculus.
Come on Smith, tell Mauer either play or be sent down period.
Start fining him every day for all games missed.
Oh well if I had his money, I wouldn't show up for work either.

Yes, but only if she lets him stay up past 10pm. She has lots of treats for him too. It should be a fun time

When one of your best player takes this long to get back in the lineup, good luck trying to get others to play thru injuries.

I miss the days of Puck and even Hunter. No way would this crap go on with leaders like that. Morneau and Mauer have never become leaders of this team even though their skill level dictated leadership roles.

First off, have you been living under a rock? Mauer was getting about as much praise by the locals as any athlete has ever gotten.

Secondly, every player has an obligation to take care of himself physically in the offseason so when spring training starts you are ready to go. I seriously question whether he thought spring training was a necessity given the past success he had a couple years ago when he had very little spring training work.

Thirdly, when you make that type of money, to say you have to be 100% to even get on the field is mindboggling. You cannot realistically expect common people not to question you with a statement like that. With big money comes big expectations. If you want that pressure don't ask for that type of money.
