Thanks for the wiki link!

That is just too funny...that her given name would be "Marie".

Of all the calculating things Bachmann has said in the media, this one just isn't one of them.

Even wealthy retired senior citizens look forward to their Social Security. And they still overwhelmingly vote more so than the average citizen.

Clearly, Bachmann is trying to attract 40 and 50 year old males and females who will work another 20 or 30 years. But, this strategy might backfire, and get her butt tossed out of office. Seniors jealously guard their Social Security and they typically de-elect incumbents that want to remove it. For the first time ever, Michelle may have said too much here.

OK. Thank you. Did you read the whole article in my link? I'm not sure why this is such a bad thing, but I'm not a farmer.
I did read it. I'm not a farmer either so I can't say I understand how these programs work. For Michele I think it's just the appearance of a double standard.

Speaking as a wealthy man, I think it would be prudent that we gave back to our fellow citizens in their time of need. I call for taxes to be raised on high earners. We can afford it and it's the right thing to do.

I have re-read the article several times and still feel strongly what I said earlier. But I would support Bachman if she can get Polosi and her "Spend a Buck" followers to stop spending and making our debt grow deeper and deeper than it already is. Gov't is just going crazy, and does not know what they are doing or when to stop!
So I hope you support ending the two wars we are currently fighting and whacking the defense budget by about 50%, since that's where our runaway spending has taken place.

"Never had anything but a government job"? She was a foster care mom for
decades, owns her own business (she actually has to make a payroll), and has
forgotten more about both the real world and the gov't than you will know
in your lifetime. Your left wing hate is the most scary thing in our society
right now; conservatives think you are misguided and need to be defeated at the
ballot box. Liberals hate those who oppose them and will stop at nothing, and
I mean NOTHING, to hurt them. This is the cancer killing our country.
Yep, she was a foster care mom...and made a great living off what it paid her by the government. She should be a Democrat by todays standard. When I confronted her about making a living off kids on the public dole, she justsaid, "well somebody has to do it". Lokk at what is made per child, and what "we the taxpayer" puts out for it...then sing me your poor working class Bachmann song.

BTW...her hubby makes great money at his job too. The difference is, he earns it without public money.

Bachmann uis a phony turd.

Instead of just whining, why don't you report the fraud?
You're just lazy too?
I don't know the person you were responding to, but I know of four very similar situations. And I have reported them for fraud, but it did no good. The system is completely overwhelmed, and as long as they have a doctor sign off on their "disability", it won't even get investigated.
Clearly, there are people who, through no fault of their own, need the assistance. That is why these programs were originally created. It is also clear that there is a huge number of people abusing them. Unfortunately, when welfare reform was passed, a great many people simply discovered new disabilities rather than discovering a way to actually support themselves, and dishonest doctors are more than happy to diagnose them in order to keep billing the system themselves.

Eliminate Medicare, Social Security, MedicAid, the Veteran's Administration, the USPS, MinnesotaCare (in all it's forms) and on and on.
Go back to true Darwinian capitalism - if you can't make it or keep up with the herd, you're eliminated so the society can move forward and be stronger.
BACHMANN 2012!
Are you that naive? Lets privatize everything and if you can't keep up too bad? I would bet my life you wouldn't last five minutes in a country like you urn for. What are you going to do when a criminal breaks into your house and you call the cops but they tell you your premium is late so they can't send anyone?
How about when every country invades us because there are no more troops defending the freedom you claim not to have?
Lets make K-12 for profit too. Then when your dumb ass gets called and the school tells you "Come pick up your kid, you are late on your tuition" You not only will you lose your job, you will then not have the opportunity for your child to "keep up" as you put it. Apparently you have never mailed anything through the for profit UPS or FedEx. Because if you did you would see it is much more expensive than mailing a letter through the post office. Why, because it is for profit so the cost that the USPS does not charge to pay greedy CEOs will now be passed on to you. And where do you think all the people that fall off go? The more that fall off, the more that resort to crime. And where do you think millions and millions of people that fell off through no fault of their own are going to go to get money? YOUR house if you aren't one of them.

Be careful what you wish for because simply assuming you would be guaranteed a spot at the top is a dangerous prediction. I can tell by how you talk, you are not built to run with those that run our country now in corporate America.

Why don't you move to Texas, help Rick Perry succeed from the union and go about your business.

Unlike the Johnson Humphrey Demoncrats that put three trillion dollars in the Social Security bank account in I.O U,s to create the great society in 1968 then turned the social security administration into another welfare agency, Representative Michele Bachamnn recognises that The SS administration will go broke, her concern is for the benefit of citizens that may not be covered when they retire because insaitable tax and spend socialists have driven the agency into bankrupcy.
But as usual illiterate Obama voters "Heard" that the representative wanted to kick everyone off of social security. WRONG again, This Representative is more concerned for citizens than the "socialists" that live on fear and un truths to promote their own incompetence.
Thanks Michele for telling the truth and keeping an eye on the unstable demoncrats.

with one third or more of your work force,,illegal labor..paying no social security tax,and then the government sending s.s. checks to citizens of Mexico, who worked in the USA illegal..wonder why SS is going broke,,its simple, only a few, i mean very few American workers paying into a system, that well over 50 per cent of the working public don't pay into..and company's saving millions of dollars working illegal labor, and not have to match the SS taken from the workers,,a company on average saves over 10,000 per year on each illegal worker..

I am all for war with a real purpose. These wars were manufactured so the military complex can have an infinite pipeline of money right out of our tax base. Even Colon Powell warned of this in an interview in 2007. The Dick Cheney's of the world lose everything if the war stops. This is why Republicans are now on the other side of winning the war. They don't want it to end because that ends the billions a year to defense contractors like Blackwater, sorry Xe and Halliburton.

All our successes in this "war on terror" have come from the investigative agencies, not the military. We need to get our boys home, cut the budget like you said and start rebuilding America. We have neglected our home for too long.

I honestly believe if we brought back all our combat troops the world would all calm down, especially in the middle east. You think Iran is going to back down after the past 8 years and Obama ramping up troops all around them? It may not even be for a strike on Iran, which we definitely can't afford, but Ahmadinijad certainly feels cornered.

If people think privatizing is the answer look what happened when we created the federal reserve(private owned bank). So many people dont realize that rich people from all over the world own the federal reserve and that it isn't even a small part of our government. When the rich people of the world want prosperity for all or poverty for all they just do it thru the world's banks.

Social Security is earned. It's not a charity. But I do agree with your sentiment.
