An employer could ask about criminal pasts or seek background checks when it selects people for interviews or extends a job offer

I agree with you. imagine perverts like my ex not having to worry about exposing that they are sex offender felons. especially in jobs where their type of victims work.

I wonder if the school board will have to follow these rules. Who knows what the next gym teacher's criminal history will be.(do they still have gym?)

I did say that he was convicted of his felony. I pointed that out about the time when you tried to claim that the police ignored me when I handed in evidence on my ex.
.
due to him having a bleeding heart libtard of a judge. my ex did not have to serve time in prison beyond after being arrested and his parents paid bail on him. he only spent a couple of days in jail.
.
he only had to pay a measly $100 fine and 2 years probation for his felony.
.
about me having a man. tough stuff a-hole. at least I can get a man. unlike you.....

libtard judges in Minnesota tend to go with a much lighter sentence. especially when the defendant is a first timer in the courts. and they plead mental as well.

how I know about kids are still doing gym classes, or as they call it - P.E./physical education. is due to the fact my daughter is in school. but it is in many ways not like gym class as it was in the 60s thru the 70s.

As I understand it, the law will only apply to having a question on the job application asking if the applicant is a felon.

Once you either grant an interview or offer a job, then it is fair game to ask the question.

Still, this is social engineering on the part of the government. Again sticking their noses into the private sector where they do not belong.

The day is coming when they will try to be the job placement agency for all private sector jobs. Your will contact them to get a pool of candidates, then you will contact them to be given approval on the one you wish to hire.

After all, this is the Socialist Republic of Minnesota.

In the first place, how many applicants with records will even tell the truth on a job app. Second, for about 30-40 dollars, you can run a background check on line on any one you want to. Especially if you have their SS number. And as far as I know, you can still require that applicants pass a criminal background check as a condition of hire.

In the current times, you would be foolish not to run a background check on anyone you are serious about hiring.

We do not run background checks prior to the first interview. However, before they are invited back for a 2nd one, we typically know more about the candidate than they do about themselves.

This is an important piece of legislation! I am glad our friends in the DFL managed to get this passed. I was deeply concerned, that left un-resolved, we might have to have Google-eyes call a special session! Thanks Senators!

The clowns in St Paul have nothing better to do?

Ummmm...how about cutting spending so the State does not go bankrupt?

Nope, they would rather waste their time on social engineering experiments that will do nothing to impact the economic viability of the State.

Are you questioning the Wisdom of the DFL? The party of Humphrey/Mondale and Perpich? Of Wellstone and Betty? Of Keith and Tommy the Commie? Of course you are, and you should, this is a joke!
