Obama was in Asia when the Sterling story hit - made immediate condemnation of Mr Sterling at the first opportunity - yet the VA scandal? not a peep -

He doesn't want any emphasis on a story he could be roasted for.

This same travesty that is happening to our brave soldiers is also happening to our retired seniors who worked all their life and did it the right way, and many are previous soldiers, so their being double slapped. They are being brushed off and the wait times are ridiculous. Obama doesn't seem to care about quality healthcare for any of them. It's a crime in itself. What the hell was his healthcare about?

What you say is sad but true. IMHO, ObamaCare is all about setting up death panels to exterminate the old white hard working Vets and seniors.

RIP, there is a place in heaven for those who built/defended the USA so lazy bum libertards could destroy it.

From CNN:

In 2007, Obama, then a senator from Illinois, vowed to tackle the issue of insufficient care for veterans at a campaign event during his first run for the presidency.

"When a veteran is denied care, we are all dishonored," Obama said in the August 2007 speech, adding: "It's not enough to lay a wreath on Memorial Day, or to pay tribute to our veterans in speeches."

Obama is no follow through president.

He did finally speak on the issue. He had no idea that there was such a problem until he read about it in the newspaper. And he is real mad. Heads will roll - after there has been an investigation... WHERE have we heard this before?

And, he belives that this problem has been around for a long time - Bush's fault.

Nicholas Kristof. The multiple Pulitzer Prize-winner wrote in 2009:

Take the hospital system run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the largest integrated health system in the United States. It is fully government run, much more “socialized medicine” than is Canadian health care with its private doctors and hospitals. And the system for veterans is by all accounts one of the best-performing and most cost-effective elements in the American medical establishment.

Much like the ACA?

I don't think anyone set up death panels, at least not on purpose. I do believe that the ACA was never ever about improving health care for anyone. It was and is more about lining the pockets of the insurance industry execs and investors, lining the campaign coffers of our politicians, and appealing to the low information voters who have been promised something for nothing. Mostly funded on the backs of the middle class. It seems to be succeeding at reaching those lofty goals quite nicely.

Net result: death panels.

Did I or did I not call it:

Nancy Pelosi blames George W. Bush for Veterans Affairs scandal

Pelosi took a shot at Bush while saying that the scandal is a high priority for Obama. "He sees the ramifications of some seeds that were sown a long time ago, when you have two wars over a long period of time and many, many more, millions more veterans," she told reporters during her Thursday press briefing. "And so, I know that he is upset about it."

Of course she blames Bush. Everything prior to the saviors arrival in Washington is the fault of Bush. As is everything after the arrival of said savior.
And G.W. Obama has had ample time to make this a priority issue with congress and with the people of America. He has chosen to do, neither.

Talk show host and military veteran Montel Williams went after President Barack Obama on Wednesday for not using his West Point speech as an opportunity to apologize to members of the U.S. military for having “dropped the ball on the veterans’ health.”

“The president just promised $5 billion for terrorists around the world?! At West Point?!” Williams said angrily.“Where he could have used the day to say,‘I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve caused you, the families, and I’m gonna fix it today!’”

Williams told Neil Cavuto that firing VA Secretary Eric Shinseki just isn’t going to cut it. He argued that would be like cutting the head of a chicken that could keep living, citing the famous Miracle Mike chicken who survived for roughly 24 months after having its head cut off.

“I’m angry because, you know, we made a promise. When I stood with my hand up proudly, I said,‘I do solemnly swear and affirm to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic and I will bear true faith.’ I went through my oath,” Williams said.

Treating our veterans poorly has been an issue that goes back way too far. So, while it's not Obama's fault that this problem exists, it is his fault that this problem persists. The question is, will he actually do anything about it? Is it not possible to use one of those precious executive orders to right this wrong? Is he too much of a weeine to shame congress in to taking action? Is he really as useless as so many have begun to believe?

I think that this story will be a Blessing in disquise for the Veterans ,not Congress will have too pass billions of dollars in VA funding to save face and to back up their,I love veterans, the IG reports will prove that the VA is under funded, and must be expanded to reduced the back load and to pay VA Doctors and Staff the same as the public sector medical staffers,we will built more and better hospitals,to accommodate or returning Vets from unnecessary wars and or baby boomers from previous wars, and we will not be managed by the private corporate sector no sir .

Well, it appears that you are actually admitting that there really is a problem! Good to see you acting a little more like an adult.

Outsource the care to private, doctors and care facilities right NOW if we are really serious about helping our vets.

Agree, if ya got a DD214 no matter what the discharge type, because many are injured by serving, all ya should have to do is take the DD214 to any health care provider NATIONWIDE and get free health care.. Those vets liking the VA system can go there if they choose.

Just WHAT DOES IT TAKE to get the DoJ to open an investigation? They've already admitted to negligent homicide. What more do they have to do? Do they have to set us on fire and profane our remains while backdooring our mothers and pouring sugar in our gastanks?

If this had been John Wayne Gacy or the Aurora Killer, their guards would have been charged with murder.

What does it take for our disabled veterans to get the same protection as child-eating cannibals and serial killers who empty shotguns into pregnant women?

This government sucks!

Really? Are you openly hostile to veterans? Do you want MORE of them to die at the hands of YOUR leader?

The VA in Phoenix had and still does have MORE veterans on their secret wait list than they had on their actual wait list. Veterans waited on average 115 days for their first primary care appointment while reporting the wait time as being only 24 days.
