Sometimes government does know best. And in those cases, Americans should just cede their rights.

The government has no right to control what foods you eat or in what proportions. This just further demonstrates that Bloomberg is a tyrant, a bully, and a nanny stater. Which generally equates to fascist.

You know, if you are getting food stamps, the money should be going for healthy foods, not twinkies, Doritos, and other crap. Maybe all low income food stamp people should move to New York, if they are on the nanny state dole, they should live under the nanny state rules.

I would like to break Michael Bloomberg's jaw and throw him down a flight of stairs. He is a ruthless tyrant that needs to be imprisoned.
Then we can confiscate all of his assets, liquify them and pay people a "living wage" to pass out the free cash to all of the homeless people. Or just put it towards reducing the debt. He would like that wouldn't he?

You are right they should have the right to buy what they want with their own money. If they depend on the nanny state, they should take what they get.

48 million on foodstamps, and you want them to be able to buy Little Debbie and moonpies with the money. Like low income obesity isn't enough of a problem already in this country.

If you want to buy what you want free from government restrictions, maybe you should use your own money. I suppose next you will want them to be able to buy bottles of Colt 45 and packs of Newports with foodstamps?

Agreed. They don't need to be buying big gulps or t-bones. On the other hand, if they are allotted a certain dollar amount per month, and they choose to purchase lobster and steak till the allotment runs out, maybe they should be hungry for a time until they learn to manage their food purchases. Unfortunately that would adversely affect their kids who don't deserve to go hungry because their parents make bad or selfish decisions. So the better option is to prohibit what they can buy with their food stamps. You know, for the children.

You are the one lying, Bloomberg's exact quote: "I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom”.

P.S. The large cup ban did not cotrol soda intake and was one of the reasons it was tossed out.
