Cronyism paybacks. They just can't stop spending money and making the rest of us pay for their BS.
And it's only going to get worse.

What's really sad is that 91% of incumbents were re-elected this go around. Last time it was around 87%. Maybe you can fool all of the people all of the time.

It is really all about the money. If we had caps on spending, maybe the best candidate would occasionally win, although then we would get the candidate that made it through the party's political machine to win the primary for that party. Neither way is particularly palatable.

That's why people need to wake up and stop voting for R's and D's. They are not really all that different when it comes to spending. Term limits wouldn't hurt either. Eliminate the career politicians. And maybe if we could eliminate their pensions and free health care for life we would get people who are more interested in public service than self service.

It seems to take far too much to get a viable third party in this country, or for that matter, third parties. A socially moderate, fiscally conservative party would be a nice start.

That would help. But people have to break their dependence on the two primary parties in order for that to happen. And for once, I agree with Honey Slew Slew. Fewer morons and liars in congress would be a good thing.

I recall Duluth got nothing from Congress after the rain of 2012.

Why should Sandy impacted private property be rebuilt by taxpayers?

Especially when those islands should never been built on.

AND the majority constructed houses near sea level causing them to be damaged?

This is why, in the not too distant future, this country will find itself in a Greece like situation and will implode. We will enter a depression, almost as great as 1929 and it will last at minimum a decade. You cannot continue to spend money you don't have and continue to borrow money at interest rates that continue to balloon the national debt. Obama's plan to bring America back to the rest of the world is working and moron continue to believe and support him!

(Topix Posters, we are so sorry for this. But we have tried everything. We really hope that this effort will be our last, and that you adults may be able to Shock Slewsie into an Altered State where she can simply drool on herself and be content to ride out her days with a "Nice Bowl Of Jello". We know that you have seen her other Multiple Personalities here, and thus you are aware that keeping her in her Slewsie Personification is the best we can hope for.
Thank you Topix Posters for allowing us to use Topix for Slewsies treatment)

(By the way, most of you know about Slewsie being the product of an Unholy Coupling of her Birth Parents who were Brother and Sister. Please have some compassion for Slewsie because as you know Genetic Defects like those Slewsie carries cannot be repaired yet. We at Seattle West hope for some rapid advancement in this area of Scientific Study so that Slewsie does not need to be put down)
