So you keep making typos yet keep ripping on others for making typos - what's up with that?
Wellstone didn't lie and his statements had nothing to do with the plane crash, except in the mind of unintelligent morons like you.
Wellstone lied. Then he died. Karma.

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/09/03/politics/03...

ST. PAUL, Aug. 30; It was not even a campaign promise. But it was a promise, and Senator Paul Wellstone of Minnesota made it without any qualification.

A day after his upset victory in 1990 against an incumbent Republican, the leftist-professor-turned-polit ician announced that he would serve only two terms in the Senate. Senator Wellstone, who had endeared himself to Minnesotans by campaigning across the state in a battered green school bus, promised he would not become a captive of Washington.

Wrong... Some pilots are QUALIFIED to fly in bad weather, many are NOT. Some pilots LIE or FAKE their qualifications to take on a job, then get burned, sooner or later.

Both of these pilots had "questionable" records as pilots, and neither probably should have been flying in such bad weather. A lot of people DIED as a result. I have YET to hear ANYBODY dispute these facts regarding this crash.

Wellstone was one of the finest statesmen ever to hail from Minnesota. Nothing a nitwit like you can say diminishes that in the least.
Actually, he was from a liberal part of Virginia, originally.

I don't consider him to have ever been a "fine statesman"....

More like a liberal rebel-rouser, with a confused mind. Sure, he was polite (he wasn't exactly an imposing, 6'4", 240 lb. former middle linebacker), but he could have cared LESS about the hard working folks who BUILT this great state or the ACTIVE MILITARY (no, he went to the vets who, long ago, left the military).

He was a PHONY humanitarian, who preyed on the vulnerable for their votes, and calling everybody else "evil".

And that stupid "memorial service", at taxpayer's expense, at Williams Arena at the U of M?? A statewide and national EMBARRASSMENT.

If Minnesota is so "fair", so "understanding", etc., then WHY are so many schools, parks, trails, streets, and highways ONLY NAMED AFTER LIBERALS?? Can't you crazy liberals even find **ONE** Republican from this state to name something after??

Not ONE. I'll bet that you can't find ONE significant landmark in this state named for a Republican. That's how CRAZY you people TRULY ARE.

You sound pretty STUPID to ME. The fact that you can't find a SINGLE REPUBLICAN to be noteworthy only SHOWS HOW BIASED YOU ARE.

BIGOT.

And that's WHY Wellstone, and his entourage, DIED.

Because they were ignorant, stupid, and careless.

And yet, we regard them as "heroes".

there is one landmark in the form of a park that is named after a Republican. thing is, it is in a area that was mostly Republican at the time.
.
there are streets named for him too that are not far from this park.

It's true. The repubs have a very poor track record in MN. The most well thought of and well known was/is Arne Carlson. Too logical and moderate, he was banned by the Republican National Committee from campaigning at their events.

The most famous right now has got to be Michele Bachmann. She's a national punch line. Not really the sort of person you name things after.

Eisenhower Elementary School and Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins. This school is not all that significan, but then niether is the school namrd after Wellstone. Minneapolis Roosevelt would be a better example.
The high School in Little Canada was nemed Frank B. Kellogg. Don't forget Lincoln, Hubbard, Ramsey, Swift, Grant, and Marshall Counties.

Shouldn't the title of this thread be "Paul Wellstone, Dead Liberal".? It is hard to be a statesman when you are dead.
