Lawmakers to weigh in on license plate readers

They're on squad cars and street lights, and they track where you're driving. Across Minnesota, police and sheriffs have been using automated license plate readers for years to find stolen cars and aid investigations.

If the government is pulling in license plate information, it should be available to anyone with an information request. No more secret government information grabs. We should know what they are taking, tracking, and what they are using it for on a local and state level.

Furthermore if they have money for all this high tech crap then why are the metro roads 100% crap?
