to use a stereotype. even though I hate them. one is useful in the description of high functioning autism can be like, this includes asperger's syndrome.
.
if you look at the various points of stereotyping of a nerd. then look at the points for the medical description of a aspie. you will find that many of the points actually match up.
.
many a job field for a aspie is computer related. be it as a IT, graphic arts, programmer, etc.....
.
some I have found out while being with other aspies. some do vote demoncrat.
.
these jobs from this link are some of the jobs various folks with high functioning autism CAN do. remember it is NOT a complete list
http://www.myaspergerschild.com/2010/10/best-... Good Jobs for Visual Thinkers
Automobile mechanic
Computer animation
Computer-troubleshooter and repair
Handcrafts of many different types such as wood carving, jewelry making, ceramics, etc.
Small appliance and lawnmower repair
.....Good Jobs for Non-Visual Thinkers
Accounting
Inventory control
Laboratory technician
Physicist or mathematician
.
one job several of my ancestors who also had aspergers is - teaching. be it as a school teacher or as a professor.

listen idiot. I used to hold down a job in a factory. managed to do so for nearly 20 years. I was working long before you were even a gleam in your sperm donor's eye. I even managed to make it to being a Line Lead. a type of supervisor.
.
plus a good housewife is a very good asset for when her husband works. as in cooking, laundry, child care, etc.... a good housewife does the housework so the man does not have to.
.
but then, you wouldn't know what having a spouse is like. go take your throazine or what ever meds you need to take. and leave us adults alone.

Great. Just keep them AWAY from GUNS. Don't show them how to operate, maintain, or use them. I don't want to lose my right to own or use a firearm because some IDIOT mother in Conn. showed her 'mentally challenged" son how to use these types of weapons. Heck, even though she had a SAFE in her home, she couldn't keep her son from accessing them. Yet, no PSAs (public service announcements) to advise PARENTS on how to properly store their firearms, or how do decide whether or NOT to teach their children how to operate firearms. NOTE: just because your child has been "bullied", that doesn't mean that your response should be how to teach them to operate some of the most lethal weapons available, especially below the age of 21.

try to stop spreading the myths about. it does not behoove you at all.
.
actually aspies are not prone to violence. that is not to say that if pushed far enough as in being bullied, that a aspie will strike back in defense. just like a 'norm', a person on the spectrum has breaking points too. but in many cases, a person on the spectrum is more likely to commit suicide due to depression.
.
as for nancy lanza, she was a doomsday prepper. she saw evil in most humans. and she did what is known as a 'Norma Bates" towards her son. isolated him and filled his head with doomsday foolishness.
.
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-204_162-57559600/... Asperger's not likely to make people violent, experts emphasize
...Experts however are cautioning that much misinformation is being spread about this form of autism in light of the link to Lanza, emphasizing that having Asperger's does not make an individual any more dangerous.

http://autismcrisis.blogspot.com/2008/10/anot... An autistic person should expect that his workplace be free of any misperception or misconception about his condition. .
by the way, I was taught firearm safety. but then, even coming from a family of folks that hunted. even though as a 'mere' female I was not allowed to hunt. I at least knew not only gun safety. but also was allowed to do target practice. something my father stopped doing with me when he found out that I could outshoot my brother. to him, "females were supposed to be horrible shooters just because they are mere females.", his actual words on the subject.
.
thing is I'm not going to go out and harm some fricking idiot who thinks it is ok to harm a person on the spectrum. I will however try to talk reason into that person, as in vocally.
.
my husband is teaching our daughter self defense thru martial arts. she knows the first rule of self defense. that fighting is only to be the last resort. not at all the first.

I think you should kick Slews arse. We could sell tickets. Autistic Female X-Factory Worker vs Slew the Bearded Walrus. This fight could be held somewhere in downtown Minneapolis on the bus route. That way both Svengoolie and Slew will have transportation to the main event. A $20 Walmart gift certificate goes to the winner.

Hey, STUPID, I am NOT spreading any MYTHS. I have actually lived with "kids" like this, have tried to "train them" in the areas of firearms, and once I did, ONCE, I decided that I could not train them ANY FURTHER, because they either did not RESPECT ME as a RESPONSIBLE "parent" or "trainer", or they did not respect ANY AUTHORITY AT ALL, which meant that they could be a serious threat to society at ANY TIME.

So GO POUND SAND, or anything LIKEWISE, I really don't CARE.

BTW, how many years did you serve in the military? How many big bucks have you "harvested"?

Well, here's my answer to those questions:

I have served honorably for 3 1/2 years in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Was interviewed TWICE to serve in the WHCA (White House Communications Agency). Was interviewed once to be the "driver" for the 82nd Airborne Division's Deputy Commander.

I was "so good", I wasn't evened offered a "re-enlistment bonus", even though I scored REALLY HIGH on ALL Army enlistment tests.

I couldn't even get a FOCKING GI BILL, can you believe that FOCKING BILLSHIT??

So I left to become a "telephone operator", and haven't regretted it SINCE.

You weren't so good, they were sanity tests and you failed....
Retard,

You are the judge of sanity.

Do you thank Spell Checker every morning when the Asylum allows you to access the Communal Computer in the Day Room?

thing is, most aspies and other autistics want to be accepted. and most are in many ways are made fun of. also go read that thread on the debate of vaccine in the Minneapolis section here for topix. World Autism Day is the day to learn about what the spectrum of autism is. and how the spectrum relates to folks. especially we who are on it.
.
and if you read that one post you responded to. where did I supposedly slammed your time in the military. I did NOT.
.
plus my husband who when I was being diagnosed as a aspie had accompanied me to the sessions by the doctor in charge of the diagnoses. he realized that he too is a aspie. and he too was in the military. he was found to be one of the sanest guys on the base with a dry sense of humour by the base psychologist.
.
my husband is one of many in my life that I know who have been a proud member of the military. a military who we should be supporting in many ways(been saying that for decades & meaning it). one of my own cousins was part of the D-Day event. he was one of the many parachuted into the land there. he is also a author. and a couple of the books deal with that event in them. he finally got recognized by his current city of residence for his actions during WW2.
.
my own father was rewarded the Purple Heart while he served in while overseas in the Korean War. he turned it down til his commanding officer made him take it.
.
as for hunting. when I was growing up and did learn how to shoot, it was considered only to be for the MALES in my family. this included both my mom's & my dad's sides of the family.
.
same thing for the military. according to my family. it was only for males to join. never a female was allowed to join. both sides of my family are old fashioned on roles of men and women in many areas.
.
so some folks on the spectrum may be needed to be restricted from firearms. but then there are folks who are 'norm's who also should not be around firearms as well.
.
but there are many on the spectrum like me who do take gun responsibility seriously. same thing goes for 'norm's. it depends on how the person IS taught.

Sure, Bill Gates has Aspergers or else you're just another nutcase, trying to take credit for his success.....

Sure, you're "qualified" to diagnose conditions, based on a person you've never physically seem...... Sure !!
