Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-MN) presidential hopes peaked in the fall of 2011 after she won the Iowa Straw Poll in August. But campaign soon fell apart once the media spotlight was upon her. She withdrew in January of 2012.

In October 2011, her New Hampshire staff quit en masse protesting they hadn't been paid and were treated poorly by national staffers.

Not paying her campaign staff seems to be a pattern for Bachmann. The folks who helped her nab the Iowa Straw Poll win haven't been paid because the staffers haven't signed a non-disclosure agreement.

Her top Iowa staffer Peter Waldron has decided to have a public hissy fit over Bachmann's negligence:

Waldron said the staffers are owed a mere $5,000, and that Bachmann has more than $2 million in her campaign account, but has refused to pay unless the staffers sign the agreement. Negotiations over payment with Bachmann Finance Chairman James Pollack eventually broke down and Waldron decided to go public with the news, posting a press release on Christian Newswire this evening.

"I feel a moral obligation to see that my Christian brothers and sisters are paid for worked performed in good faith. I've continually communicated by telephone and email with Mr. Pollack for 1 year but he broke every promise made to me to pay the staff. I appealed to Dr.[Marcus] Bachmann for help. I appealed to Representative Bachmann's Chief of Staff Robert Boland to intercede with Mrs. Bachmann on behalf of her loyal Iowa staff - all of whom are married, all have children," Waldron said in the press release.

"It is sobering to think that a Christian member of Congress would betray her testimony to the Lord and the public by withholding earned wages from deserving staff," Waldron added.

In October 2011, Bachmann staffers simply denied the reality that her NH staffers quit. Her staff is doing the same thing with this controversy.

James Pollack, cited by Waldron above, categorically denies Waldron's charges and accuses Waldron of lying.

Are the 6th district voters that dumb to realize what a phoney she is?

Apparently so, because they keep re-electing her to be a lump of coal taking up space in Congress.

Bachmann is an amateur when it comes to being a deadbeat. Hillary Clinton just paid off the last of her Presidential campaign debt from 2008 by raffling off Slick Willie a couple of months ago. When you bitch about Hillary then you will be honest. Until then, you are a pile of shyt.

Bill Clinton is asking his wife's supporters to help pay off lingering debt from her 2008 presidential campaign as speculation grows on whether she will run again in 2016.

In a message to Hillary Clinton's email list, the former president offered donors the chance to spend a day with him in New York City if they gave to the fund before December 6.

Well Missy lump of coal, these folks spent many hours of their time helping a candidate. They are just plain working folks who would like to receive compensation for their loyal work. Comparing Clinton's campaign debt to these Iowa & NH folks is like comparing a turtle to a race car. Nice try for a lump of coal or should I say a lump of excrement which fits you perfectly to a tee.

Not different in not paying off debt, just different political affiliation. Bachmann may be bat shit crazy, but she isn't nearly as big of lump of coal in the House as let us say, Charlie Rangel?

You can't even come up with something you didn't say before? How sad.

Why don't you complain about Hillary's bills being unpaid 4 years later?

A staffer for Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-Minn.) unsuccessful presidential campaign says she has shorted him and other staffers on debts owed from the Iowa caucuses a year ago.

Dr. Peter Waldron said he believes the payment might have been withheld because the staffers cooperated with a law enforcement investigation of the campaign.

Waldron, a consultant in charge of outreach to Christian voters for the Bachmann for President campaign, said the campaign has refused to pay him and several other staffers for more than a year. The cumulative sum is small, about $5,000, Waldron said.

“I haven’t any idea, and I say that with great candor and humility, as to why Michele chooses not to pay a handful of staff,” said Waldron in an interview.

He suspects the payment has become embroiled in a lawsuit and criminal investigation into allegations that Bachmann’s Iowa campaign chairman stole a valuable voter list.

Waldron said he and several staffers on the campaign payroll were led to believe they would receive a full month’s pay for helping to clean up and shut down Bachmann’s Iowa campaign office after last year’s Jan. 3 caucuses.

“The staff submitted invoices with an expectation that they would be provided with an entire month’s retainer and there was every reason to believe that each of the employees in Iowa would be paid,” he said.

“After 12 months and many broken promises by Michele’s finance chairman, Jim Pollack, I made the decision that I was going to go public with the story,” he said.

After Waldron asked Bachmann’s husband, Dr. Marcus Bachmann, to intervene, he said the staffers who were owed money received a non-disclosure form requiring them to speak with Bachmann’s attorneys before consulting with law enforcement investigators or other lawyers about the campaign.

Waldron suspects the payments might have been suspended because they cooperated with a criminal investigation over a stolen voter list.

“Michele Bachmann and her senior staff are involved in a lawsuit in Polk County, Iowa, and there’s a criminal investigation under way,” he said.“Many of our staff are involved in either depositions or interviews with the police.

“It’s probably not a coincidence that all the people who have not been paid are the very people who have either given depositions, given affidavits or have been interviewed extensively by the police,” he said.

Bachmann has the money in the bank to pay her employees. If she wanted to have them sign a non-disclosure agreement it should have been done prior to their starting employment. I wonder what she is hiding. I read a report that Bachmann supporters have a low IQ. With your non-comparison comments I see you fit that description.

Finally this little item from April 2012 about Presidential Campaign debt....and I quote:
"Even together, the Clintons’ campaign debt doesn’t rival that of 2008 Republican presidential candidate, who owes two-dozen creditors a combined $1.5 million, not including $1.1 million in outstanding loans Giuliani made to his campaign committee."
