If you thought Meatless Monday was bad....
NYC public school swaps chicken nuggets for tofu, becomes first all-vegetarian cafeteria

"Our head cook is also a vegetarian herself and a parent in the school," Groff said.

P.S. 244, which serves 400 students from pre-kindergarten through grade three, went all-vegetarian in January, but was just publicly recognized by the New York city schools chancellor, Dennis Walcott, during a visit on Tuesday.

“I am proud of the students and staff for trailblazing this extraordinary path,” Walcott said in a news release.

And for those that don't know what meatless monday is

Retracting a Plug for Meatless Mondays

The message seemed innocuous enough, coming as it did from the federal agency tasked with promoting sustainable agriculture and dietary health:“One simple way to reduce your environmental impact while dining at our cafeterias,” read a United States Department of Agriculture interoffice newsletter published on its Web site this week,“is to participate in the ‘Meatless Monday’ initiative.”

.Thousands of corporate cafeterias, restaurants and schools have embraced the idea of skipping meat on Mondays in favor of vegetarian options, an initiative of the nonprofit Monday Campaign Inc. and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

But by Tuesday afternoon, amid outraged Twitter messages by livestock producers and at least one member of Congress, the agency’s “Greening Headquarters Update” had been removed.“U.S.D.A. does not endorse Meatless Monday,” a spokeswoman said in a statement. The newsletter, which covered topics like the installation of energy-efficient lights on the Ag Promenade and recycling goals,“was posted without proper clearance,” the statement said.

Young kids need fat in their diets, it's necessary for brain development. I guess it's time to send a bag lunch to school with them.

My Nieces in Minnesotastan had their "Lunch Bags from home". inspected by the Apparatchiks in their Government School, to make sure the lunch met Queen Meecheles "Guidelines" for nutrition.

It's what the culture at this school eats normally.

Administrators noticed a higher number of vegetarian meals in the cafeteria, he said, partially because of the school's population: P.S. 244 is about 70 percent Asian and Indian. The switch to meatless — which the school did in partnership with nonprofit organization New York Coalition for Healthy School Food — was seamless.

It isn't particularly painful for me to watch, it is somewhat humorous to see the postings and see that the slewchebag thinks he is making some kind of difference posting his nonsense non-stop. It is amazing that he feels he wins arguments posting such drivel, and that by posting the most and last, he somehow wins.

It must be a living hell to compulsively have to post and comment on everything like the slewche does, regardless of the content and value of the postings supplied. Oft times, even the slewchebag's spelling and grammar "corrections" are incorrect. Ultimately, rational posters just ignore the slewchebag postings. I am hoping the slewche gets intensive psychological intervention before he has a complete psychotic break, but if posting keeps him off the street, maybe it is good therapy for him.

My niece has been drilled about 'healthy food' for years, but for her 10th birthday last month she got a cell phone and a steak dinner from the parents. Indoctrination can only go so far if you have a good upbringing!
