If somebody's dog gets loose and causes damage, the pet owner is liable. Why can't we hold parents to the same level of accountability for their kids' behavior?

It would probably just end up being the taxpayer paying for it anyway....

"He was having a dispute with his caretaker and wanted a BB gun and was throwing a hissy-fit,"

Caretaker? What the he!! is a 'caretaker'?

This boy does have some psychological problems. A BB gun is the last thing this kid should get his hands on. Oh, don't give him a pocketknife either.

I wonder if my "caretaker" father would have let me get away with that? He must need better "mentors".....obviou sly the kid is acting out because of something tramatic, or worthless parenting/caretaking...worth a closer look. And I mean the big picture!

Try more like Obamavision. That is the only place your going to see that its okay for a brat this age to get away with it.

Caretaker means the kid is in foster care. This kid is NOT going to get any better and wait until he is old enough and out on the street, mark my words he wont be holding a BB gun, try more like a 45.

Make this kid volunteer for the city. Have him spend 100 hours picking up trash.

Try reading the article and comments before you post.

This kid is in foster care - he's obviously been removed from his parental home.

Foster parents work hard to help "brats," especially those predisposed to violence.

There are bad/worse parents then this kid probably has who don't act out. It's quite possible the kid has mental illness/personality disorder that is not really the parents' fault.

Spoiled damn brat. Charge him. I dont care how old he is. Teach him a lesson. Lock him up so he can see what his future will look like.

I'm guessing there is no male role model in the boy's life.

And he's a liberal.
