Gov. Googly Eyes is ignoring the science from a number of other states and dozens of studies indicating it's not any single compound in pot that works for people. It is, rather. the combination of compounds and their interaction with the human metabolism that makes it do what it does. This is just a way of pandering to the drug companies who he probably gets some of his trust fund money from. The drug companies are none too fond of a medicine they cannot control for profits sake that anyone can grow for themselves. No one has ever died from smoking or otherwise ingesting pot. Hundreds die every year from prescription drugs. No one seems to give a crap about that.

Maybe our good Governor should have commandeered an expensive study of the dangers of the homosexual lifestyle before jumping in with both feet.
Naw, that would have made sense, forget that.

There are more studies than you can count, this is just a way for Ol Google Eyes to funnel more money to the Mayo Clinic, and stall the pot issue. Put it to a vote, like you should have done with the stadium, and should be done with the new $90 million Senate Building.

Just legalize it and be done with it. Stop prancing around this whole medical thing. Pot has done far less damage tham alcohol, which has killed more people than all the other drugs combined. But because of it's tax revenues, it is legal. Colorado is seeing some very nice tax revenues because of legalization. But no zombie apocalypse has yet to appear.

I put this in the same category as fully legalized gambling. Both will bring significant problems that will at least partially be offset by tax revenue. But, will the extra money be worth the additional social issues?

I respectfully disagree. I don't believe full legalization of either of these things will bring on "significant" problems and the benefit will eventually outweigh the risks. We will begin the process of cleaning minor drug offenders out of the prisons just for starters. And I firmly believe that the government should not have any say in what you put in you body or how you piddle away your money. And the government should not be responsible for resolving any issue you might get in to because of your behavior.

No matter how you think it should work, the reality of the situation is that a significant amount of any tax revenue will be used on programs for the possible problems - needed or not.

Colorado certainly should give us an idea as to how things would work for our state if we should follow suit.

To these things, I will agree with you.

I was watching C-Span this morning and Minnesota ranked #1 for the best healthcare and the cheapest premiums in the nation were also ranked # 1 with the healthiest people.

No you are not on topic and if you did indeed present an opposing view, it was not laid out clearly at all. Unless your opposing view is as follows:
Governor Dayton is the best thing that ever happened to Minnesota and he can do no wrong.

Was that what you were attempting to convey?

Or was it just your disdain for anyone who does not jump on the democrat (and republican) bandwagon of blind allegience to the party leaders no matter what they do or say?

Umm...I started this thread, and the topic is as listed above. Dayton wants money for a medical pot study. Due to your cult like devotion to all things democrat, you did not comment on that topic. If you want to sing the blind devotional praises of Governor Googly Eyes, start your own thread. If, however, you wish to address the topic listed above, feel free to do so. Your views, opposing or in favor of, are welcome.
