Of course when these hundreds of MILLIONS of dollar projects start the supporters say: "50% of the project is funded by the Federal Government so it's much less expensive than it seems".
But at the tail end of the projects the likes of Judy Richter all of a sudden it's a $400,000,000 commitment.
And so goes the 'Good Money' after the 'Bad Money'.
Victoria Reinhardt (RCC) on the other hand says "right now we are at a crossroads".
"We are NOT going to continue this into perpetuity", says Reinhardt.
It's time to contact Reinhardt to support her thoughts.
High speed rail to a city you can drive to in less than 2 hours is asinine.

Given the number of stops that will happen with the "high speed rail" line, it will take longer to ride the high speed line than to drive.

Only in a Democrat's mind would that ever make any sense.

LRT or high speed rail has applications.

The Central Corridor was supposed to be a fast trip from Mpls to Saint Paul. Once the design was reviewed it was determined the current bus riders would not have access because of the small number of stops. So the Government "leaders" added a bunch of stops along Uni so the LRT will have to stop frequently which will slow the trip AND tie up vehicle traffic when the long train waits for loading and unloading.

What has been created is a LRT/bus which will be a disaster for north/south traffic crossing Uni. Think about rush hour with LRT/bus trains going east and west on Uni stopping traffic as it goes.

I hope I live to see the mess, I'll then rest in peace, LOL.

Gov GoogleyEyes is a great governor if you are a moocher. Not so good if you have a job and pay taxes.

I am no longer a MN resident thanks to good old Gov GoogleyEyes' tax policies. And there are lots more like me leaving the State and no longer paying MN Income Tax.

How will Gov GoogleyEyes make up for the income that is leaving the State?

This sounds a lot like the nuts that still blame bush for everything. The other day someone blamed the fact that we left the gold standard on George W. Bush..... you people only try to deflect and derail thank you for arguing why high speed rail to rochester from MSP is good/bad/inconsequential...... I now see why FORMER Gov. Pawlenty is to blame for this

Dayton's internet tax already destroyed one sector.... Good luck to all those Amazon associates (some people raised themselves out of poverty this way just by starting a internet blog/ but that would be a self-made man and that man need not exist)

I am betting the fake black guy is lying again.

I read Forbes. I have never seen MN ranked #1 in anything that Fobes rated. Provide the link there, fake black guy.

6 busses per day? Wow, given a 75% capacity rate, that means 135 employees ride each direction. 270 rides in total.

Way over $2 Billion spent to give a ride to 135 people trying to get to and from their jobs? Bad investment.

Let's just buy them each a Chevy Volt instead. Way cheaper. Oops! They could not drive that far in a Volt, could they?

OK, go whole hog. Buy them a good car. Get them each an IS250 and make Hwy 52 a race track to and from Rochester. I'd go for that one. Besides, that would be twice as fast as the so called "high speed" rail - and way cheaper.

IMHO, it'd be better to simply take the $2,000,000,000 and retire the people by giving them a million each. 2 BILLION would retire 2,000 people and they wouln't need to drive or commute at all. Of course you couldn't give them a million or they would hit the casino and gamble it away so use the $2,000,000,000 as a savings with the 2,000 getting interest in monthly payments.
