T Paw's rush to state the obvious proves he is a huge problem to overcome for stadium supporters. His words are true, but the quick attempt to squash any momentum is very negative. The powers that be were the ones to approve new Twins and Gopher homes, thereby doing away with the efficiency of three teams sharing a venue. Now they just leave the one team left standing out in the cold, and blame it on their greed. Vikings will move, and the blood can be on T-Paw's hands. Long live East Dakota!

There isn't going to be a new stadium if it relies on much public spending, period. The state is broke. No politician will touch this with a 10 foot pole. It will have to be paid for primarily by the fans in the form of higher ticket prices. The funny thing is the average middleclass bluecollar facepainting vikings nerd screaming for a new stadium will be priced out.

T-Paw will do the rethuglican thing. Screw up the state's economy and kick the stadium can down the road so the Democrats have to come in and clean up his mess as usual. If taxes have to be raised to build a stadium, the the pro-business, less taxes rethuglicans will scream "tax and spend Democrats" eventhough they are the morons who screwed the whole economy up. Same BS all over again and the ignorant rethuglican morons will lap it up as true and bring the thieves back into power who will screw them again.

I think the Ziggmister is planning the money from higher ticket prices is going into his pocket, not paying for the stadium. hehehehehe

To my knowledge, it is a privately financed stadium so it matters little if the state is in the red.

I have absolutely no idea why the football gophers and the vikings could not have played in the same venue. I went to the U back in the 70's and on campus football didn't make or break the program. winning or losing did. to pay out the millions for a football stadium when tuition was going up 3-8% each year is foolish, especially when the vikes needed a stadium, too. It was all about the money, parking, concessions and the luxury suites. The greed is taking the fun out of watching the game. I'd rather go to a bantam hockey game for free than pay 200 bucks to watch the vikes. We just gotta start saying "NO"

I do like t-paw's stance on this - maybe he won't be some lobbyist's tool if he gets beyond MN!

Timmy, and I thought the state of Mn was doing so well under your dictatorship! Maybe, if you ever get a chance to lead again. As unlikely as that is after you unallotted food aid to the blind, handicapped and elderly. You will consider grandstanding as a risky investment and do what is right for a change!

The way congress is passing out money for banks, cars, giving senators three hundred million for votes, climate change or globel warming among other things surley they can drop off enough stemolus money for a stadium. go vikings.

It's nice to actually see someone in our government system not wanting to spend our hard earned money for once. I know the vikings need a new stadium, however, it's not the governments job to force a tax on people to make this happen. People are having a hard enough time paying bills as it is, let alone increasing taxes for football.

Pawlentry was elected to serve the people of Minn. One should expect him to work on ways to help a new stadium to come to be, not run for preident. Be creative, present various ideas, and work through them. This what a leader does. A dictator only tells everyone only what he wants, to benefit his own well being. Come on Tim, be a leader, thats what you and your staff are being paid for. If you want to run for President do it on your time.

Minnesota does not want a team obviously. Why did they build the Twins a stadium? Why?

And the bottom feeder supporters of the democrats will continue to sponge off the rest of society, demanding more and more from those who employ their uneducated, lazy asses.

Let's say the team owner puts in half and the fans directly donate the other half.

A $500 donation per stadium backer should do nicely.
