The rumor had been circulating in the radio biz ever since Cumulus Media hired Mike Hucklenutz and began rumbling about losing money with rushbo:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2013/07/c...

In a major shakeup for the radio industry, Cumulus Media, the second-biggest broadcaster in the country, is planning to drop both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from its stations at the end of the year, an industry source told POLITICO on Sunday.

Cumulus has decided that it will not renew its contracts with either host, the source said, a move that would remove the two most highly rated conservative talk personalities from more than 40 Cumulus channels in major markets.

(PHOTOS: Cartoons of Rush Limbaugh)

The decision comes after negotiations between Cumulus and Premiere Networks, the division of Clear Channel that distributes Limbaugh and Hannity's shows, broke down due to disagreements over the cost of the distribution rights, the source said. Cumulus is known to drive a hard bargain on costs, and Clear Channel is known to seek top dollar for big names.

As industry insiders caution, Cumulus and Clear Channel have come to the brink before during contract negotiations only to resume talks. But the source told POLITICO that Clear Channel was unlikely to reduce the cost for distribution rights to a level that would satisfy Cumulus.

This means the pair will lose their longtime radio homes at WABC, WLS, KABC and KSFO among others. Expect Cheap Channel/Premier to find new affiliates (in New York they bought WOR in anticipation of this happening) but on stations with far less reach than they're currently on. It also means a substantial loss of affiliate revenues. One more example that hate radio is dying.

What part of 'rumor' doesn't an illiterate, cut and paste troll understand? Politico, ha ha ha ha !!!!
Get a life, loser. You're just jealous because Rush and Sean could buy and sell you 100 times over with what they make in a day. Their contracts are coming up and re-negotiation is a common practice.

I believe that these two Entertainers are on about 2000 Radio Stations, combined.

We are not talking here about Dirty Al Franken the Pornographic Satirist, and AIR Amerika!

The Right Wingers actually have PAYING Advertisers, unlike Dirty Al who made his wages by raiding the School Funds from NY Schoolchildren's Education.

Air Amerika, ONE Sponsor, The Victims Demokrat Party of Amerika.

Hannity and Limbaugh, ONE HUNDRED Sponsors from the Free market.

40 Stations are gonna drop um?
They could buy those 40 Stations from the spending cash in their pockets!

A clue for you Demokrat Sheeple;

Consumers PAY for what they want.

Your Plantation Masters TAKE what they want, and support losers like Dirty Al Franken with We the Peoples Wealth!

Hannity and Limbaugh are entertainers. That's all. Nothing more. If they lose a few stations, who cares? I never listened to Hannity and quit listening to Rush over 10 years ago. They are both loud mouthed clowns who would turn to the left in a heartbeat if they were offered enough money to do so. Just like Eddie, who was conservative, then switched to liberal. Or Mike Molloy and his nsaty tongue. They would switch back in a heartbeat if the money was there. These people are capitalists and "show people" first and formost. Never forget that.

Yes. As usual, Rush made it sound like the worlds very existance hinged upon the hiring of Colbert by CBS. Wholesome middle america would be wished in to the corn field.

Well, admittedly, I am not a fan of Limbaugh. I used to like him when he first hit our market some what, 15 years or so ago? He was interesting. In the last few years, not so much.
