What the hell kind of parents send their children in to the wilderness at night to cross a river alone, guided by strangers who abuse and molest them?

I agree with one thing in this story....we need to engage the Mexican government on this issue. We need to make it economically painful for them to allow this to continue.
And I agree that Obama, and congress, especially Boehner, and all his talk of amnesty (aka...reform) is in part responsible for this. We should have addressed this issue 20 years or more ago.

We DID address this under Reagan, remember?
Give Amnesty and we will fix part of it later (A Dem. idea). Later never happened!

Parents that are hoping for a better life for their children I would guess. The whole melting pot thing has been lost on bagger nation. They now view it with fear and hate.

Apparently you don't have any children. And most people don't have a problem with the "melting pot thing" as long as it's done legally. And as long as the immigrants don't become a constant drain on our resources.

It was a bad idea then. It's a bad idea now.

Mexcan kids "summer" in Mexico and "winter" in the US. Moms and dads work in the US year around flying under the proverbial radar avaoiding taxes etc. That way the kids get educated in the US for free and enjoy summer with their extended families in Mexico. The kids have to cross the border somehow under the radar and in most cases there is no problem crossing the border.

That's the way it works.

There are good and bad muslims just like there are good and bad christians, jews, gays, straights, etc. But considering the current events, people from muslim countries should at the very lease be scrutinized more closely before being allowed in to this country. In other words, a little profiling would be a good thing.

I am well aware of the civil rights issues in many (if not all) muslim countries. I have complained many times about the fact that we ally ourselves with some of these nations and provide them with aid, education for their wealthy kids, and weapons, knowing full well they will be stoning some woman to death in the capitol square on the same day because her husband divorced her.

Were there any good members of the KKK? I mean, maybe just a few of them were bad. Maybe just a few bad apples spoiled the whole bunch like the Mooselumes. Or, maybe the whole group stands for something bad.

I'm one for the melting pot. BUT I prefer that it is done LEGALLY.
.
Meaning all those that are here. Either they and or their ancestors came here legally. NOT illegally.

I know what happens there.
.
Both my husband's and my family came here legally. We don't like illegals being here. To us, illegals are squatters in many ways. They came into a place illegally, and they took up residence in a place illegally. They need to be removed.
.
If you remember, I espouse kicking ALL illegals no matter what their ancestry is, down to the Isla de los Estados. Which is considered to be part of South America. Co-ordinates being 54° 47′ 0″ S, 64° 15′ 0″ W.

The KKK stood for hangings and cross burnings. What religion they belonged to had nothing to do with it. Islam stands for conversion or death, stonings, beheading, suicide bombings and covering up the faces of women. If I did not support what my religion was doing I would quit that religion. If I belonged to the KKK and and did not support what they were doing, with your thinking, I should quit my religion?

No, the KKK stood for racial purity. And still does. And the KKK uses christianity and the bible to justify their beliefs. No different than al queda or the taliban uses islam to justify their beliefs. The difference is that most christians has learned to ignore all of the messages in the bible about beheadings, conversion, stonings, etc in the bible. A lot of muslims are just not there yet. And since there are about1.6 billion Muslims in the world, you had better hope they are not all like their worst representatives. Any more that the over 2 billion christians in the world are not like their worst representatives.

Very true. They are also very much strict Christians. They even one time tried to stand up to a group of those who follow the Ásatrú religion. Lets just say that when the kkk was threaten by the group they went after. The kkk backed down. Seems they didn't want to be hammered onto that cross they were carrying at the time to interrupt the ritual.

http://depts.washington.edu/civilr/kkk_wot.ht... The Seattle Klan newspaper, Watcher on the Tower, illustrates the Klan's beliefs in Protestant Christianity, pure Americanism, white supremacy, manliness and fraternity, and how it saw these as the defining characteristics and representations of Klansmen.

You are referring to the OLD Testament. As a matter of correcting you, Christians did not choose to ignore any of it. Those laws applied to the Jewish people living in those days and was meant to show the spiritual consequences of SIN and the laws from Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy were the books of the law. They was referred to as "Mosaic Law". Christians do not live under Mosaic law with all the sacrifices anymore.. Because Jesus changed all of that by crucifixion on the cross, providing a path for forgiveness of Sins and living under Grace and not law. So, while Christians read the Old Testament to understand the History of Israel and the Jewish people and WHY it was necessary for Christ to come along...We certainly did not choose to ignore any of it.. Just so you know.
As for the KKK using the Bible to justify their views...they are the ones picking and choosing what they want to show in order to justify their views, not unlike many people who pick and choose scripture to prove their points without actually taking any of it into context. Of which not one of them are justified.
