Another example of the Federal Imperial Government stepping in to "solve" problems caused by over regulating the private sector.

You will never rid this country of poverty.

But if you want to minimize poverty, and maximize prosperity for all, have the government get the hell out of the way and quit picking winners & losers in the private sector. Hard work and talent will allow more to prosper than some silly government program that chooses who will benefit based on crony capitalism.

Crony capitalism is the Obama way. That is why we have a greater economic divide between the rich and the poor than at any time in history.

(Reuters)- President Barack Obama is set to speak on Thursday about how he will target job creation, housing, law enforcement and education in the poorest U.S. communities, part of his pledge to narrow the gap between rich and poor in America.

Obama signaled last month that he plans a new focus this year on income inequality, which he called "the defining challenge of our time", pushing to raise the minimum wage and find new ways to help poor children break out of the cycle of poverty.

As part of this effort, Obama will create "promise zones" in San Antonio, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, southeastern Kentucky, and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the White House said on Wednesday.

"Promise Zones". What a load of crap. People don't need zones, they need jobs.

Thing is, there will always be poverty. As well as there will always be rich folks. It is just human nature to crave riches. To go out and try and get those riches. The various gold rushes that have occurred thru-out history are a good example.
.
As well as it will be human nature to be unable to keep their riches. Be it due to battle, gambling, needing to have several offspring, nature(includes natural disasters), other folks' greed, etc...
.
As for trying to equalize the money and belongings gap. Some have tried it by using the communism path.
.
But, there is no way true communism can and will work once you add the human element to it. And that is what some folks unfortunately want. But they tend to forget that the human nature is a violative one. As in no two humans are going to see, think, and act the exact same way ever time to the same situations.
.
In many ways human greed is part of why we are a survival based race. Heck, I have yet to see a animal species that can and does use communism..
.
Few of the communists point to both ants and bees as their example of why communism supposedly works. Thing is, with out their queens, those two species would not survive for very long. Since it is the queens who are the 'baby' machines of their colonies.
