LGA has been raised $80 million a year, with Minneapolis and St Paul getting $25 million of that money, or 31.25% of the increase. Pretty nice, considering combined they have 15.4% of the state's population, and got 25% of the LGA previous to their 31% increase in LGA.

Considering the exorbitant taxes in Minneapolis, you would think they would not be in need of LGA. As opposed to some of the small rural communities that don't have much of a tax base to work with.
More payola? Wouldn't be all that shocking.

Don't forget LGA that went to North Maplewood that was used to build a community center that was never used by residents. So now the community center will be used by the school district.

So taxes were not reduced by application of LGA and North Maplewood residents taxes go UP because property is removed from the tax roles and used by the school district.

Government fail!

No, that can't happen, Maplewood needs that money. It is always nice to have the rest of the state's taxpayers on the hook for your financial mistakes.

And the current legislature claims they are reducing property taxes $400,000,000. Ya right, the reductions will be in the form of LGA to towns. The LGA will be sidelined by the towns and wasted on Government junk with NONE actually being used as tax reductions.

Plus the school districts will be allowed to increase taxes without voter approval.

Taxes going UP UP UP!!!!

I love the funding of the Wilfs playpen with smokers tax. This is reducing taxes on the poor?? How many rich smoke?

Giving Wilf $400,000,000 from the pockets of the poor so the rich can enjoy a new stadium.

Hurl time
