All of you need to understand this teacher is not an exception but the NORM. These people don't teach, they photo copy work sheets and sit at the desk watching a clock.

The young, inspirational teachers that you have this iconic vision of don't exist anymore, or their spirit has been stomped out with this force fed union curriculum. They are no more than highly paid factory workers today, churning out millions of disinterested kids every year.

Blern,

Your post was pretty uninformed and simplistic. How many classrooms have you observed lately? Of course, some teachers are lazy and uninspiring, but there are many hardworking ones out there battling to educate kids whose families have failed them in a myriad of ways. Try a little humility. And by the way, it's "uninterested," not disinterested. Maybe if you had met your teacher half-way and studied a bit, you would know that.

I used the word correctly, you ignorant, arrogant twit. It means 'having or feeling no interest in something', which is what most public school students feel as they stumble out into adulthood. How many classrooms have I observed? Plenty. How many children do you have in public schools? Mine suffered this environment for eight years until we were able to get her into a better non-union school.

There are teachers 'battling' to teach kids, but they are fighting the limited curriculum, the union backed school boards and are losing the battle. Those teachers have whatever inspirational part of them snuffed out in a few short years by the union run factory style school system.

Maybe if you weren't such an arrogant fool, and your teacher hadn't been teaching you from snippets on photo copied work sheets, you would have the sense to question a system that has created a declining standard of education in America for the past 40 years.

You are way out of your depth on this issue.
