Trying to "comment" on a public works disaster at least 1500 MILES AWAY. This a-hole seems to have NO expertise in public utilities, or ANY public utilities, yet he berates any and EVERY person who shows any experise or skill related to such systems.

No, I do think that GRAIN ALCOHOL could be a factor, given my experience with working with OTHER workers who were CLEARLY DRUNK WHILE WORKING, and had NO "problem" with it, and they were UNION WORKERS as well.
Since the Slewer Rat likes "personal stories":
Before I was married (13 years ago) I had a 5 bedroom house in South Minneapolis that I rented out to city workers. Mostly truck drivers and laborers. While there was a lot of drugs, booze, and loose women, I don't think they actually drank on the job, but they were often really hung-over at work. And, Oh, the stories I could tell about the union! LOL

Notice no cause stated, in fact the pipe ripped open... implies it ripped itself, with pressure.
Pipes burst or rupture from pressure, they don't rip open. This pipe was ripped open by a crew from a construction project working in that area.

Ryan Construction, which has been working at this location for almost a year now, is, in all likelihood going to get the bill from the City of Mpls. The problem the city may have, however, is the pipes age, and the fact, the back-hoe actually fell into the hole, suggesting the age of pipe and the weight of the the back-hoe may have collapsed the pipe, versus any action the construction company took. Either way it was a mess, disaster is a bit strong. No one died, no one was injured and Chopper 5 got to hover over the city. No longer a story, move on

The age of the pipe and working nearby are why accidents like this happen. Insurance will be billed.

But doesn't EVERY story have to be political? Shouldn't Republicans be blaming this on Rybak?

It is a shame you can't understand basic word usage and must defend your mistakes by attacking other posters. It is also a shame you can't educate yourself on the facts before trying to counter another poster.

I am EXTREMELY well educated and know almost everything in the world and I virtually never make a mistake.

Although I'm almost perfect I choose to spend all my time posting on Topix rather than making money.

It's sad how pathetic Slew Jumbo is. He has to change his name to agree with himself and can't imagine anyone having the integrity to post under just one name.

Yeah, it gets pathetic, he has to change names and posting styles to get anyone to interact with him, and when they realize they were had, they quit talking to him again. The old joke about his mom tying a pork chop around his neck so the dog would play with him is probably true.

And when they change proxy location to places like Burnsville.

Oh, so clever.
