We can't expect government to take care of the infrastructure when we have all the refugees, deadbeats, and Chicago criminals to care for.
Thanks Democrats, it's only gonna get worse!

If the pip ad been istalled in the 1990's it would have broken on its own 10 year ago.

That old pipe will last forever because it's very heavy duty. Todays pipe would be made in China, contain lead, woud be 1/2 the thickness and would have broken 10 years ago.

The probable reason that this water main got "massacred" is because the backHO operator probably had a few beers during his "lunch break".. Still NO WORD from the MASS MEDIA if the backHO operator was tested for DOPE or alcohol..... Given the magnitude of the "DISASTER", I would think that such reporting would be STANDARD.

Given the magnitude of the disaster, shouldn't the public be accurately informed as to the status of the backHO operator? Was he a veteran, a rookie, hungover or under the influence? No, we don't need to know his/HER name, unless that operator was under the influence, then they would have been charged with being "under the influence".

Hiring rules these days result in some being put in positions they shouldn't be in.

However because of the PC instilled in Government mandating the rules, the reason for disasters is sometimes never revealed.

I would say that MOST OFTEN, the reason for disasters is never revealed. I KNOW, I work for a public "utility" myself, and have been for over 30 years. The stories I could tell.......

A couple of examples that made the news were the space shuttle disaster over Texas resulting in a saftey officer being let go, I don't know what she is doing now. Then the backup police officer who stood by while the officer she was backing was burned and then shot to death, she is still a COP in Maple Grove I think.

Notice all the "Old Pipe" wasn't replaced. A small section was replaced, the part destroyed by the back hoe. The old pipe is still in the ground.

"The portion of the cast iron pipe that ripped open has been replaced.."

Notice no cause stated, in fact the pipe ripped open... implies it ripped itself, with pressure.

Ah, no, pipes don't just "rip open" all by themselves, they usually need a LOT OF HELP...

Probably some backHO operater who was hungover or had a PITCHER OF BEER along with his LUNCH before he DESTROYED a perfectly functioning water pipe, a "mistake" that resulted in MILLIONS of DOLLARS of DAMAGE.

No, I do think that GRAIN ALCOHOL could be a factor, given my experience with working with OTHER workers who were CLEARLY DRUNK WHILE WORKING, and had NO "problem" with it, and they were UNION WORKERS as well.
