It all comes from the Lifeline program created in 1984 under Ronald Reagan. It was expanded to include wireless phones in 2008 under George Bush.

Additionally, no federal monies are allocated for this program. It is paid for out of the Universal Service Fund it appears as (USF) as a line item on most telephone bills and is a requirement that all telecommunications companies contribute, it is optional whether they pass these fees onto their customers. Yeah, they DO !
So in conclusion, despite what people think, the federal government does not really pay for anyone's phones and this program was started by Reagan and expanded by Bush.

The problem IS, is that SLEWAGE doesn't have the slightest CLUE between GENEROSITY, and FRAUD, and he/she is TOO STUPID to understand the concept even if you tried to beat it into him/her.

You would have better LUCK trying to train a DOG to do BETTER.

I'm not talking about the elderly or disabled.

I'm talking about the parasitical, leeching, no-good, NON-taxpaying,
parasitical, WORFFLESS, ANTI-AMERICAN, HATING, PRO-WELFARE kind of INHUMAN, RACIST, BIASED, TOTAL LOSER type of "citizen", who has given up all hope, and feels some kind of sick satisfaction by making other hard-working AMERICANS feel more misery than they deserve, because they don't have enough intelligence to express it ANY OTHER WAY.

Have heard that BS a THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE, through a THOUSAND DIFFERENT WINDPIPES. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, is that NOBODY is telling these PEOPLE the following:

NOTHING IS FREE. Clean air is not free. Telephone service is not free. Clean water is not free. Freedom is not free. Etc., etc. etc. etc.....

Get it yet?? If you want to LIVE, then you had better be willing to WORK FOR IT, and if you are skillful, then you may prosper...
It means learning USEFUL SKILLS as soon as you are able, and be willing and motivated enough to make the most of them.

You ARE obviously twisting a "well meaning" program designed to help the TRULY NEEDY into an "all involving" set of citizens who paid NOTHING into the system but who now feel inclined to reap the benefits of such a program that the program was NEVER INTENDED TO SERVE. I DARE YOU to DISAGREE, you unAmericanbastard...

BULL$HIT.

The USF was originally funded and designed to help RURAL farmers, who could not afford traditional telephone landline service from the 1930's onward. The costs to provide such such service was inherintly expensive, because of laying copper cable to every rural farmer. So a "subsidy" was installed, called the USF, to help offset the costs of laying copper cable to the rural areas.

That had NOTHING TO DO WITH GIVING EVERY WELFARE MOMMA A CELLPHONE IN TODAY'S MARKET in URBAN AMERICA, ALONG WITH EVERY ILLEGITIMATE CHILD LIVING UNDER HER ROOF, also SUBSIDIZED BY OUR GOVERNMENT.

Where does that appear in our "constitution"???

SLEWAGE, when you have 30+ years experience in the MAJOR telecom industry, with an EXCELLENT work history, LET ME KNOW, LOSER.

I know my job, and my INDUSTRY, and there is NO WAY that you can KNOW MORE than I DO.

Agreed.

A stupid question, if someone on welfare gets a free ObamaPhone and they live outside the coverage area of the free ObamaPhone do you suppose the Government will pay for a new tower for the needed coverage?

I mean copper is strung all over Minnesota to places without cell coverage but the phone provided by the Government for free MUST BE a cell.

Nice side issue, but a gun kills by intention, while an elevator raises you from floor to floor... Just for you, choose to have a gun used on you or an elevator ride, then you'll feel REALITY ! Poor TrashyLiar, master of moron minutia...

One has to remember that all guns are born with bad intentions.
