Just 37% of Americans say they support the Affordable Care Act (ACA), President Barack Obama's signature legislative achievement. Worse for Obama and Democrats, the number of Americans who oppose Obamacare has jumped 8% since June and is now at 53%.

Voters head to the polls in 95 days.

Newly released Government Accountability Office (GAO) report:

Tthe Obama administration's disastrous management of the construction of the Obamacare website cost U.S. taxpayers $840 million (so far).

AND entire sections of the Obamacare website, such as those that submit insurance payments to insurers, have not even been built yet!

Wasn't it Rumsfeld who said you go (to war) with what (army) you have, or something to that effect. Apparently this is now standard operating procedure for all of our affairs of state.
G.W. Obama is alive and well.

According to the Investor's Business Daily Obamacare scorecard, 429 employers have already slashed tens of thousands of workers' hours and jobs as a result of Obamacare.

Three new Federal Reserve surveys reveal Obamacare continues to force employers to slash jobs and hours in response to the unpopular healthcare overhaul, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Last Thursday, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia reported findings from its Obamacare business survey, revealing that 18.2% of employers are cutting jobs and employees as a result of Obamacare. Moreover, 18% said they have also had to shift more of their workers to part time.
The New York Federal Reserve study found similar findings, with 21% of New York manufacturers and 16.9% of service businesses reporting reductions in the number of workers they employ due to Obamacare.
Lastly, the Atlanta Federal Reserve's study found that 34% of businesses that do not cover health insurance plan to hire fewer full-time workers due to Obamacare's tax penalty for companies with more than 50 workers.

Obamacare has hit a lull. The president's signature domestic policy program isn't causing quite as much chaos right now in people's lives as it did last October and November during the incompetent launch of healthcare.gov . The absence of an immediate crisis has prompted smug suggestions from the usual suspects in government, on campus and in the news media to declare that the law is working and people like it.

Obamacare is working only in the unlikely event that its goal is to deliver the Senate to Republicans this fall. Disapproval of Obamacare hit an all-time high last month, in part because premiums keep rising. PriceWaterhouseCoopers finds that the average insurance premium in the Obamacare exchanges will rise by 8 percent this year.

Obama's promise before the law was passed was not that premiums would continue to skyrocket as they had before, but that that the average family of four would be saved $2,500 per year. Mention that $2,500 these days and you will see Obama's cheerleaders shuffling silently from foot to foot while looking distractedly into the middle distance.

Who's paying the new Obamacare tax? You!

When Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, it required health insurers, hospitals, device makers and pharmaceutical companies to share in the cost because they would get a windfall of new, paying customers.

But with an $8 billion tax on insurers due Sept. 30 — the first time the new tax is being collected — the industry is getting help from an unlikely source: taxpayers.

States and the federal government will spend at least $700 million this year to pay the tax for their Medicaid health plans. The three dozen states that use Medicaid managed-care plans will give those insurers more money to cover the new expense. Many of those states — such as Florida, Louisiana and Tennessee — did not expand Medicaid as the law allows, and in the process turned down billions in new federal dollars.
