President Barack Obama was riding high in a new opinion poll released on Sunday showing that 53 percent of Americans approve of the way he’s doing his job, despite a flurry of recent scandals.

The survey of 923 adults by CNN and the ORC International polling organization found that 45 percent of respondents disapprove of Obama’s job performance.

In early April, the same poll gave the president a 51 percent approval rating, showing that Obama is holding steady despite a brutal week in which the White House attempted to control damage from three simultaneous scandals which threatened to derail his agenda.

The White House last week was forced to respond to controversy over the administration’s response to last year’s fatal attack on a US mission in Benghazi, Libya; government subpoenas of phone records belonging to the Associated Press news agency; and revelations that federal tax authorities had singled out conservative groups for special scrutiny.

Republicans have used the affairs to accuse the Obama administration of being guilty of a massive abuse of power, which the White House denies.

The polls showed that most Americans believe the scandals are either “somewhat important” or “very important,” but for the time being were giving Obama the benefit of the doubt.

The survey was conducted on Friday and Saturday and had a sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.

A survey of 923 people, handpicked by the unbiased CNN gave the President a 53% approval rating, and that's what you liberals are crowing about.
Wow, thanks for the laugh!!

Why would that surprise anybody? The GOP, instead of showing leadership, are running around screaming like a bunch of spoiled children.

Really! Man, I hate it when a bunch of spoiled children scream about the most feared government agency trying to Wesley Snipe the Tea Party, and other law abiding American Patriots!
Funny though, aren't the leaders all Democrats?

Piggy had it right with 953 hand picked by CNN. However, what does this poll tell you about the low information voters in the USA?

It says that Obama needs to keep lying to the American people.

It says that Obama needs to continue his Marxist take over of private sector industries.

It says that Obama needs to continue to ignore the US Constitution and expecially the 14th Amendment.

It says Obama needs to continue his abysmal economic policies where we have record numbers of children in poverty and record numbers of people on government assistance.

It says America is in real trouble.

Not to mention that the low information voters are blind in one eye and can't see out the other. Unfortunately, there are far too many of them on both sides of the isle to offer much hope for the future.

Pres.Clinton was right about the GOP when he said that the republicans have an arithmetic problem, they can't accept the fact that two plus two is four.
The Benegazi made republican politcal scandal has already fallen apart for the Baggers after the latest Issa committee hearing now even the boy wonder Ryan have sided with the Dems see www.huffingtonpost.com .

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.)

"Do you believe that the White House purposely misled the American people on Benghazi to try to beat you and Mitt Romney and win the election?" host Chris Wallace asked.

"I don't know the answer to that question," Ryan responded. "Rather make a conclusion before an investigation has been completed, we just need to investigate this for the sake of good government."

As recently as last week, Ryan insisted to conservative radio that there is "no doubt" a cover-up took place, an assertion that remains on his official congressional website.

WOW !??? So, let me get this right, Romney/Ryan LYING & ETCH A SKETCH ???

IRONY, right ??

Yo Piggy, the IRS has been targeting political groups, from both sides, for decades. It didn't become an issue until they went after a group owned by the Koch brothers.

WD does his best cheap shot and run away act again.

Within the last 5 years, what groups on the Left have been targeted by the IRS?

The friggin' IRS has admitted they targeted those on the Right. What a dumb response on your part.
