Why don't you answer the questions in my post Tina?
How many children as a percentage do you think are capable of meeting the standards you suggest?
How many children as a percentage do you think are willing to meet the standards you suggest?
What do you think should be done with the children who can not or will not meet the standards you suggest?
Question one; not all and that is the problem. Considering that they need to be able to meet those standards or be unable to work in the modern world. The days of being able to make a good living without a basic education is impossible.

Question two; willing? The fact is that they need that education to survive without government assistance for their entire lives. The days of digging ditches for a living with a shovel and sweat are long gone.

Question three; They are examined to see if there is a reason why they cannot meet those standards. The teachers will also be examined to see if they are the reason. If it is the student then they need to be transferred to some place where they can receive the education they can and if it is the teacher then the teacher will need to find another job.

Do you realize that everyone here had to meet those standard or they could not be here on TOpix. They could not read or write well enough to operate a computer.

One more example of where it is well illustrated that people should be responsible for their speech.

Those that advocate warming should have all their money and wealth confiscated until the money spent to avoid it is paid back.

Those that advocate that warming is a fraud should have all their money and wealth confiscated until warming is paid for.

Whichever side is right wins.

<quoted text> It is my own. Shure I cut and pasted it to save time typing it . However Im the original author. I havent plagurized anything. Ive been posting my take or rant for at least a year. Here it is again!
Ive posted this favorite rant of mine on many forums and so far not one greenie has ever been able to refure it. My take is the activities of man have no real or lasting effect on the planet. Because everything on the planet is a natural thing. granted much of those natural things like a snakes poison , viruses ,germs ,diseases or the gas from a volcanic vent can be harnful to organic life but they are still natural just the same. Given the fact that you cant take something and make it into nothing. That something will still exist somewhere, someway. in some form in some manner. and you cant take nothing and make it into something like pepertual motion it cant be done. Add to these facts that for every action there is an equal & opposite reaction its a wash. Even Steven. There should be just as many good positive things from mans activities or a warmer climate as bad negative things. and the planet will eventually recycle all those natural things man has rearranged at sometime ,somehow ,someway at someplace. There has never been a optimal or normal climate. No two centuries ,decades, years or days have experienced the same weather like snowflakes no two are just alike, There is no one who has the right to state just what the optimal climate would or should be.Myself I think warmer & wetter would be better! Now refute the facts.
And once again, do you tell your children and grandchildren not to worry they will just change form? It is natural that way. When no humans inhabit the planet it will be natural.

To cook temperature data and warm the earth artificially, NASA and NOAA have whipped up a nifty recipe. Here are the not-so-secret ingredients for global warming:

1) Reduce temperature reporting stations across the globe from nearly 6,000 in 1970 to 1,500 or less today.

2) Drop out reporting stations in higher latitudes (colder), higher elevations (colder) and mainly rural locations (colder).

3) Cool early temperature records through data “adjustments” to create the impression of a current warming trend.

4) Fail to compensate or under-compensate for urban growth and land-use changes that can produce localized warming known as the urban heat island (UHI) effect.

5) Cherry-pick thermometers from reporting stations sited at busy airports and other warm locales (e.g. near the coast or at lower elevations).

6) Fill gaps in the shrunk-down thermometer network by estimating temperatures using a system of global grid boxes. Then “populate” the grids with thermometers stationed at lower latitudes and altitudes, or near the coast and in other warm spots.

7) If there are no temperature stations inside the grid box, use the closest station in a nearby box (for example, at the bottom of a mountain plateau or on the coast).

8) Adjust the final temperature dataset using “homogenization,” a blending process that effectively spreads a warm bias to all surrounding stations.

9) Voila, global warming made easy!

What percentages Tina?

Not willing: Almost all public school education today is geared toward developing a student for college. If a student is not interested in college why would they be willing to go through that?

Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, even truck drivers make good money and none of it requires college.

Meteorologists Reject U.N.’s Global Warming Claims
February 1, 2010

Only one in four American Meteorological Society broadcast meteorologists agrees with United Nations’ claims that humans are primarily responsible for recent global warming, a survey published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society reports.

The survey results contradict the oft-repeated assertion that a consensus of scientists believes humans are causing a global warming crisis.

Objective Methods

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) survey was limited to television weather forecasters who are also meteorologists. A prior survey of all television weather forecasters--including ones without meteorological training--produced a heavy percentage of skeptics. The new survey was designed to determine whether the meteorologists held the same opinion as the broader group of all television weather forecasters.

The survey was conducted by the congressionally funded National Environmental Education Foundation and vetted by an advisory board of climate experts from groups such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service, and Pew Center for Global Climate Change.

The average poster is posting at about the 6th - 8th grade level. Is that your standard?
I asked before at what level a 12th grader should be able to read, write and comprehend in order to graduate. Another question you have not answered.

My children are grown and they know you greenies are full of it. You folks are nothing but fear mongers crying wolf. There will always be humans on the planet. All that is happening is a pole shift . A pole shift in part caused by the planetery alignment that will occur on 12-21 of this year. Mans activities arent the cause. And man cant prevent or mitigate a pole shift. The north pole shifted 40 miles closer to siberia in 2011. It will likely take about 100 years before the shift is completed. then it probably wont move very much for about 3600 years.
