if I have a different opinion than you it doesn't mean I feel threatened. Interesting that you say that! Do you feel threatened, son?<quoted text>
Not conflicted at all. It's not a black/white issue at all, though that is the simplicity that deniers constantly wish for.
Electric cars are perfectly suitable for some people and some applications. We do not have to give up gas and diesel vehicles tomorrow.
Years will pass as we transition to more electrical vehicles. Gas/diesel vehicles will phase down; maybe not out, especially if voluntary and mandated fuel efficiencies continue to improve. There's a transition now to LP powered mass transit. Why do you feel so threatened?
The idea is to reduce fossil fuel use, not phase it out altogether, or phase it out next week. Reduce emissions, reduce consumption, and reduce the damage to the atmosphere.
You guys operate under the illusion that war has been declared on fossil fuels. Well, not exactly. That's not possible or practical. But moving to a more sustainable method in transportation is highly desirable, and should be pursued with all haste.
The 40% of energy use associated with buildings, with homes and offices, is something that CAN and should be addressed immediately, and can be done with very little pain. You guys accuse us of wanting to retreat to a cave and cook over a campfire, but the reality is that we can be sustainable with very slight changes in our lifestyles; changes that may indeed even reduce our heating and cooling bills to our advantage.
By the way, you thinking is not a good idea until you learn how. You haven't been doing well at it so far.
Btw, LP IS a fossil fuel. What do you think about that?
