.......the Dunning-Kruger effect. The Dunning-Kruger effect also covers those that don't know, who think they are smarter than those who do know.

It is so obvious that toxic topix AGW deniers who have no hi skule DEE-plooomaas, & believe themselves scientifically superior to people having 10-16 years more science & mathematics training, are perfectly described by the Dunning-Kruger effect.

gcavemen1,"Well, we just loved W's spending," Who 'loved' Bush W's crazy spending on wars, tax cuts for the rich, subsidies and tax breaks for Big Oil and Nukes,..? No one 'loved 'it except Bush W and Cheney's own republican cronies ,and Big Business .(Not even Wall Street loved Bush W's reckless spending) Where did Bush W's spending get us?--deeper into two intractable overseas wars, greater in debt to OPEC and China, and off the cliff into recession . So, who do we blame for it? A black-american President who sought to put the breaks on the inordinate spending by defining our essential priorities that we ought to be spending on, like national infrastructure ,improving quality of life needs of our own people, and finding ways of raising the necessary revenue now to pay for it instead of borrowing more from foreign rivals, passing the debt onto the poor, elderly ,and our children's future.

And you may get it. If so, the deaths of 100's of millions of people and the misery of billions will be partially on your head. I hope a miracle allows you to live long enough to have to live with that knowledge.

global warming is real
-
it it just a real as:
- Mass hallucination
- paranoia
- paranormal activity
and
- extraterritorial abduction
not to worry though...
the government will solve global warming the same way they solve all problems...

so true!!! and there are just enough malthusian's to elect the one's who will answer the bell.

just like obama did with gitmo. <snicker>
or how his stimulus spending would keep the unemployment rate below 7% <heeheehee>
or how .....on and on and on.
how can people be so blinded to think man can do anything with the natural occurances of climate?
this is a stretch by the politicians......but very gullible on the part of the proletariat!!

Unemployment levels have dropped to 7.5% and the stock market broke all previous records by topping 15,000 for the first time. And if you argue that Obama's economic Stimulus policies are taking too long to get the unemployment number down the just consider how faster the economic recovery would have come if Congress had given him the entire amount that he had wanted to spend on America's rebuilding and growth. No one is talking about doing anything about 'natural occurrences of climate', but the human induced climate change caused by dumping billions of tons of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere and acidifying oceans from burning of fossil fuels in our cars, trucks, coal-fired power plants, etc.-- we zoomed past 450ppm and threatening to reach 500ppm and higher by 2050--the last time the planet was this hot, molten rivers flowed down volcanic mountains and humans did not even exist. Also, Malthus was proved right. "Demand for food is on the rise worldwide, but this demand is causing global environmental dilemmas. One guest speaker at my university cited the famed scholar and political economist Thomas Malthus, who suggested in the early 19th century that “population increase is exponential but increase in food production is linear”— thus concluding the world must ultimately starve" (Check this out: http://grist.org/article/2011-10-06-food-stud... )

Why do conservatives contradict themselves so much? They want America to take back their leadership position on politics and the economy in the world ,but they disparage every attempt by Obama to do so by more investment in education, science, and encouraging the innovative business prowess to invent new adaptive renewable energy alternatives. "On the right, both climate change and questions about global limits on oil production have exited the realm of empirical debate and become full-blown fronts in the culture wars. You're required to mock them regardless of whether it makes any sense. And it's weird as hell. I mean, why would you disparage development of renewable energy? If humans are the ultimate creators, why not create innovative new sources of renewable energy instead of digging up every last fluid ounce of oil on the planet?' We humans release carbon dioxide into the air, too, by burning fossil fuels. This activity has caused the Keeling Curve to creep ever upward since 1958: The lows get a little higher each year, as do the highs.

Because carbon dioxide typically peaks in May, researchers are expecting the Keeling Curve to break a milestone of 400 ppm this year.(If not, the number will almost certainly be reached in May 2014.) As of May 1 of this year, the last day data was available, the Mauna Loa observatory recorded 399.39 ppm of carbon dioxide in the air.

Once carbon dioxide hits 400 ppm, the milestone will have symbolic significance, according to Michael Mann, a climate scientist at Pennsylvania State University.

"It is a reminder of just how uncontrolled this dangerous experiment we're playing with the planet really is," Mann told LiveScience.

unemployment levels have "dropped" due to people falling out of the work force. they're no longer on the rolls. real non farm payrolls aren't even keeping up with population growth! the stock market is rising.....but that has nothing to do with obama...it's all with bernanke. TRUST ME,I DON'T MIND. Easy money has made for great corporate balance sheets and profitability. The stock market rally has little, if nothing, to do with the economy and economic growth! You did know that, didn't you?

we humans release co2 when we exhale. what's next....a carbon tax on breathing?!?! because you think your faith based science is sound?
where's the model...the test...the evidence that mitigation will alter your "guaranteed calamity"?
you people need to wake up before you place all your trust in people who haven't proven a thing....yet demand so much of your freedoms and rights.
if it was as urgent as they say, and you believe, we wouldn't be having this debate! because the empirical evidence and testing would be there.....which it's not!
