Obamacare’s 10% tax on tanning bed services is racist against white people because darker-skinned people don’t need to tan. At least, that’s what Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL) advised Speaker John Boehner to claim in order to turn people against the Affordable Care Act.
At a recent town hall meeting, Yoho laid out his strategy to an appreciative crowd:
I had a little fun with [John] Boehner and told him about the sun tanning tax. He goes,‘I didn’t know it was in there,’ and I said,‘Yes, it’s a ten percent tax.’ He goes,‘Well, that’s not that big of a deal.’ I said,‘It’s a racist tax.’ He goes,‘You know what, it is.’ I had an Indian doctor in our office the other day, very dark skin, with two non-dark skin people, and I asked this to him, I said,‘Have you ever been to a tanning booth?’ and he goes,‘No, no need.’ So therefore it’s a racist tax and I thought I might need to get to a sun tanning booth so I can come out and say I’ve been disenfranchised because I got taxed because of the color of my skin. As crazy as that sounds, that’s what the left does right…

Racist or not,(and it kind of leans in that direction), it is totally uncalled for and can be categorized as being without representation.

We don't need more taxes. We need to cut spending.

Taxes are MUCH lower now than they used to be. We need to both increase revenue and cut spending where prudent - and there aren't many places that spending can be cut.
Really? Gee, let's start with all of the aid money and weapons we sent to Syria?
All of the aid we send to countries like Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Pakistan, etc. that never gets to the people who need it?

How about all those corporate bailouts by the G.W's, Bush and Obama?
How about the colossal waste of money we call the DHS?

How about the billions in pork spending for useless crap that our Congress brings home to their constituents as payola for campaign contributions?

I could go on but the point is, there are plenty of places we can reduce spending. We really do have some serious spending problems. Revenue is not the issue here. We could start by making the 50% or so of people who pay no income tax, and the churches pay some kind of taxes. But in my opinion, we should abolish the IRS and switch to a value added tax or a flat tax system. The current Tax system is unfair and unworkable.
