The March Unemployment numbers were published this morning. The "Official Rate" fell 1/10th of 1% to 7.6%. The Obama Administration is cheering today because this proves the US Economy is in the midst of a Recovery.

But is it?

The more comprehensive measurement of Unemployment is called the U6. That too is down this month to 13.8%. This provides a far more accurate picture of the real number of people unemployed.

http://portalseven.com/employment/unemploymen...

Yet, just yesterday we heard that the number of new jobs created for the month of March was the lowest in 9 months.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-jobs-gain...

The Labor Force Participation Rate declined 2/10th's of 1% last month and is now the lowest it has been since 1985 at 63.3%.

http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000

Jobs Created and Labor Force Participation are far more realistic units of measurement on whether the Job Market is in recovery mode or not.

Conclusion: The Obama Administration is still an abject failure and is incapable of providing the type of leadership needed for this country to recover economically from the past 5 year disaster.
non-starter

I think your conclusion is flawed. The Obama administration is highly skilled at pretending lower unemployment percentages of a shrinking labor pool is good economic news.

Yet another well thought our, reasoned and researched response from the resident grammar, spelling and comma queen.

And once again we see evidence of Obama failing to live up to all of his campaign promises. But hey, he got to play golf with Tiger.

Sure, we get it, do you ??

The term penny stock has evolved with the market. In the past, penny stocks were stocks that traded for less than a dollar per share. The SEC, however, modified the definition to include all shares trading below $5.

It is kinda sad when one of the voices that Slewsie hears in her head causes her to post a response to the voice that only Slewsie hears.

Nobody knows what the hell this post is about.....except Slewsie.

Full Meltdown.....No need to thank me "folks".

While by now everyone should know the answer, for those curious why the US unemployment rate just slid once more to a meager 5.9%, the lowest print since the summer of 2008, the answer is the same one we have shown every month since 2010: the collapse in the labor force participation rate, which in September slid from an already three decade low 62.8% to 62.7%- the lowest in over 36 years, matching the February 1978 lows. And while according to the Household Survey, 232,000 people found jobs, what is more disturbing is that the people not in the labor force, rose to a new record high, increasing by 315,000 to 92.6 million!

The Big Lie: 5.6% Unemployment

Right now, we're hearing much celebrating from the media, the White House and Wall Street about how unemployment is "down" to 5.6%. The cheerleading for this number is deafening. The media loves a comeback story, the White House wants to score political points and Wall Street would like you to stay in the market.

None of them will tell you this: If you, a family member or anyone is unemployed and has subsequently given up on finding a job -- if you are so hopelessly out of work that you've stopped looking over the past four weeks -- the Department of Labor doesn't count you as unemployed. That's right. While you are as unemployed as one can possibly be, and tragically may never find work again, you are not counted in the figure we see relentlessly in the news -- currently 5.6%. Right now, as many as 30 million Americans are either out of work or severely underemployed. Trust me, the vast majority of them aren't throwing parties to toast "falling" unemployment.

There's another reason why the official rate is misleading. Say you're an out-of-work engineer or healthcare worker or construction worker or retail manager: If you perform a minimum of one hour of work in a week and are paid at least $20 -- maybe someone pays you to mow their lawn -- you're not officially counted as unemployed in the much-reported 5.6%. Few Americans know this.

If you had a brain, you would know that President Obama has created more jobs than the last 4 rethuglican Presidents combined. And Governor Dayton is the ultimate job creator. Especially when compared to that corrupt WI Gov Walkedonyou.

Open your eyes rethuglicans! We won. We will continue to win. We are your salvation.
