Congress makes the rules on what is taxed and how much, also what tax rate and what can be deducted.

The only real way to get past teh issues is take away ALL deductions and do a flat tax.... you make $100 you pay $10! We do have a flat tax on things besides income already, you ever get a discount or surcharge at the gas pump??? FLAT TAX!

And YES a flat tax would hurt me! But I do think it is fair!

Those who live off the taxpayer on welfare etc should pay taxes, what percent of the population do they make up?

I don't mean they should get less welfare, I mean they should WORK like the rest of us contributers!!

How many of the liberal wealthy give to the Democrats, and other left wing radicals! It is their choice to support the "values" they have.
What is your problem with that? It is what makes this country free and not a gestapo style the current administration seems to prefer.

Be honest.....Have you forgotten the biggest talking point of the last election?....Is this deja vu?

1%ers should not pay their mandated share... because they work much harder and provide jobs to thousands of people.

We should give them the respect and reverence the 1%ers deserve... they are moving the economy forward. Stop whining. Applaud when they walk by.

Because Greed, both personal and corporate, will never be duly regulated......Taxing those at the top, makes all the sense in the world.....Remember the GOP talking point, corporations are people.....

Right... that's going to happen. We deserve the tax breaks and loopholes we get due to increased responsibility for insuring employees get a paycheck. We take the risk, and reap the rewards.

Why should I before forced to pay proportionally for the [higher] amount of money I earn? Doesn't make sense. For local, state and federal government to squander it?

No matter how hard you debate it here, or believe it should sincerely happen... it won't. Stop deluding yourself.

Too simplistic and those jobs provided would be tied to the taxbreaks..........

What all you right wing extremists fail to mention is that the tax rate for the top 1% has steadily declined in the last half century while deductions have increased.
Tell me how that capital gains tax works for you.
The 1% need to start paying their fair share. Their percent of the total wealth in the US is steadily increasing at the expense of the middle and lower classes.
Total Bullseye here.....Also, as i recall that Top 1% in the 50's-60's, were pretty damn productive..........

We live in the global economy era. True 1%ers will take their business wherever they want. Tax breaks are just one way to attempt to get them to stay, since in many cases they can go elsewhere and be taxed less.

We 1% people need our own forum, where we can discuss NWO stuff and what politicians we control.

So then, they will go live in Mexico or Philippines, just to amass the most greed and tax savings they can?.....Too high of a price....

In some cases perhaps.

Most are just born with considerable economic advantages.

Right. When you're poor, always play the "born with economic advantages" card to explain it away. Many wealthy individuals created their own substantial wealth... right her in Minneapolis. Stop whining.

So you're suggesting that guarantees success? To get rich requires cultivating a certain set of skills and knowledge. To stay rich requires developing the first set of skills. Many "rich kids" are ruined by their over protective or uninvolved parents who are more focused on money then whats important, their kids. Replace your time and leadership with a wallet and I will show you a spoiled, loser kid thats probably more interested in drugs and sex then success. Creating wealth requires tireless hours of hard work, and many simply don't want to work that hard. So I disagree with you that starting from wealth somehow guarantees material success. Most millionaires are first generation. You're talking about the Kennedy's and I'm talking about our neighbors. Big difference!

Exactly. People are poor to average income because they don't see the big picture, don't promote themselves or act on their best judgement. They're poor for a reason, instead of being rich for a good reason.

Unless you're willing to take calculated risks, you will remain average for a lifetime. The 1% deserve tax breaks, if for nothing else, being role models.

It's hard to have a discussion with someone who has such a slave mentality that they will post under numerous names with zero content. Slave on brother, slave on.

How easily they forget that both parties receive funding from the wealthy 1%'rs.
