Here's my two cents. As an independent, the following would be the only way I would ever vote GOP:

- publicly sever ties with the religious extremists and become the party of ECONOMIC, not moral responsibility. Recognize that religion and politics do not equal wins in a secularized nation. America just voted for disastrous fiscal irresponsibility because they rejected the GOP/theocratic world view.

- promote candidates that reflect the base principles of the party, not right wing favorites or legacies of rich families. More self made successes, less ivy league cronies. This will bring the young people back, as well as the independents.

- remember that you sometimes have to take a step back to take two steps forward. Embrace the ideas of sound money, a gold standard, auditing the fed and decriminalizing marijuana for taxable sale.

- acknowledge that we need revenue increases as much as we need cost cutting, but be more creative than they are in finding new revenue. Find a realistic alternative to 'tax the rich'.

You still show a complete lack of reading comprehension fundamentals. Try again.

...says the resident troll who annoys everyone with his mindless blather. Practice what you preach, freak.

Explain how the above describes democrats on any level. My challenge to you is simple. In plain language, explain your point. My bet is that you can't, and what will follow will be dead silence or childish evasion and more accusations intended to change the subject.

Lets hear it.

Democrats cry that we are making drastic cuts that will harm the poor and most vulnerable when we only increase spending by 13%.

It's not the GOP that can change but the majority of Minnesota voters are just not real bright.

Talking to a number of DFL voters has revealed they don't think ahead as to what will occur in the long term when the Liberal mindset takes over Minnesota.

The 2013 Legislative session will result in changes in Minnesota that will shock the majority of Minnesotians even after the same majority voted for DFL Legislators.

The Liberal mindset will destroy Minnesota, watch and see it WILL BE SHOCKING!!!

Very good on your above comments Blern. This in no way describes democrats or republicans in their current incarnations.

And no, Slewpid will not bother to try and rebut what you have said or provide any kind of evidence to debate you statements.

Democrats don't want to cut a dime of welfare spending, but they aren't willing to spend a dime to get rid of welfare fraud.
The Republicans have been around since 1854, they will only die out if they become more like Democrats.

The Republicans have already begun dying out.

As long as they continue their bigoted path, they will continue to die out.

Exactly what I thought you would say. Would you like to try again?

I'm sure there are flocks of democrats that cringe knowing that you are on their side.

Democrats are too busy fighting the larger, more costly fraud known as CORPORATE WELFARE!

Heard of that Miss P?

Think maybe what goes around comes around, whitey?

Hope you enjoy your future as all your rude and disrespectful behavior, not to mention racism, comes back at you.

If you're lucky, the government will allow you to take advantage of Affirmative Action due to nobody wanting to hire you based on your white skin color.

But please don't think I will feel bad for you.

Some things are just wonderful to watch.

How did the amendments work out for you?

Ah Hahahahahaha!!!

Another deflection. Did you lose track of the conversation already? Please read the previous posts again and try to concentrate. You seem to want to discuss anything but what was asked of you. Are you caught in yet another stupid statement you can't get out of?

This is one of the dumbest comments I have seen from a right wing commenter. You got your butts handed to you in this election because the GOP in Minnesota is firmly in bed with the far right-wing extremists tea party and the religious right. Until there is a more moderate influence in the GOP, your party is a non-factor with most Minnesotans. Here's proof. The party bashed your former elected leaders such as Carlson and Durnberger. Your party shot down Marty Seifert as the party's choice to be a candidate for Governor and instead picked that guy from Delano who was so far right, he was completely unelectable.

Nope, until the Minnesota GOP wakes up and gets out of bed with these extremists they will have a tough time regaining control of the Legislature and Governor's office(which by the way, they have held for nearly 30 years until this past election).
How does that old saying go?
"If you snooze, you lose."
Wake up GOP. You have been sleeping with a bunch of losers!
