Awful Truth

Grover Norquist minion Phil Krinkie and Anoka County Commissioner Rhonda Sivarajah appeared before a Tea Party gathering in St. Cloud. Both are vying to replace retiring and embattled Michele Bachmann in Congress representing Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District. Failed 2010 MN-GOV candidate Tom Emmer and State Sen. John Pederson (R-St. Cloud) didn’t attend.

These four need to prove to the deranged and grammatically-challenged teabaggers that they are the most crazed, farthest to the right candidate.

So … how’d they do?

“I have a lot of the same philosophical principles and ideology as Congresswoman Bachmann, but I have a totally different style,” Krinkie said.“In over 25 years of being in public office and being president of the Taxpayers League … I have never, in that period of time, said anything that was so over the top or was criticized as being non-factual.

“I love Congresswoman Bachmann and what she stands for. But I guarantee you that the people of the 6th Congressional District, if I were serving in Congress, would see somebody that has a totally different style and a totally different approach to the process.”
(St. Cloud Times)

Fail. Where’s the over-the-top rhetoric the teabaggers demand. Where’s the promising to repeal Obamacare? Truthfully, Krinkie is uncharismatic and boring. I can’t see him convincing them of anything except he is the wrong candidate for them.

The tea party no longer has any influence on politics.

Most of the former tea party backers are learning that there is more to politics that racism and meaningless slogans.
