House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa:

The revelation that the IRS sent 1.1 million pages of nonprofit tax-return data — including confidential taxpayer information — to the FBI confirms suspicions that the IRS worked with the Justice Department to facilitate the potential investigation of nonprofit groups engaged in
lawful political speech.”

IRS officials appear to have violated federal tax law by giving the Justice Department more than one million pages of taxpayer data — some of which contained confidential information — to explore possible investigations against these taxpayers.

Are ya po'ed at the government yet? We have a Nazi Germany flavor of Federal Government in place. They know NO rules, they don't care about the constitution and their response IS: "what difference does it make?". OR some bumps in the road. They could care less about US Citizens rights.

This is not new. It has been coming for a long time.
We are like frogs in the frying pan as the heat has been rising over the past 50 years or so. But some of us are starting to take notice.

I know a retired IRS auditor, not a friend. She brags about how she would make people squirm after finding they made a mistake on their tax forms. Ya the beetch somehow found pleasure in punishing people for making some stupid mistake in their BS tax forms.

IMHO, there should be a flat tax with no deductions etc and then eliminate the IRS. The IRS is nothing but a bunch of gestapo arsewhooles who would work well as Walmart greeters, maybe. However elected officials will NEVER give up their gestapo that can be used to harass opposition non-profits, be they Liberal OR Conservative.

IRS "ethics" lawyer facing possible disbarment, accused of lying:

A lawyer in the IRS ethics office is facing the possibility of being disbarred, according to records that accuse her of lying to a court-appointed board and hiding what she’d done with money from a settlement that was supposed to go to two medical providers who had treated her client.

The disciplinary arm of the D.C. Court of Appeals has recommended that Takisha McGee, a section manager in the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, lose her law license over the charge, which stems from a personal injury case she worked about a year before she joined the tax agency.

- How many other news organizations have been audited since President Obama has been in office?

- How many of them could be identified as conservative- or liberal-leaning?

- Have any other news organization been subjected to this sort of far-reaching and oppressive inquiry, including requesting the personal tax records of editors and reporters?

- At what point does the IRS decide to take action to audit a news outlet?

- Does the IRS worry that its extremely burdensome auditing process could effectively silence the press?

- Previously, Senator Durbin wrote the IRS asking that it examine the tax-exempt status of Crossroads GPS, a Republican organization that spends money electing Republicans. Did the IRS ever receive any communications from any elected official asking it to examine Breitbart News Network, LLC?

Who, precisely, is responsible for making the decision to audit Breitbart News Network, LLC?

The IRS can't keep its own house in order, so who is going to pay for it? The American people!

The IRS is considering its own temporary shutdown due to recent budget cuts enacted by Congress, its chief said Thursday.
IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said furloughs — forced unpaid days off for employees as part of an IRS closure — is one idea reluctantly being tossed about to save money, though they are hoping they will not have to go there.

The news comes a day after Koskinen in an email warned IRS employees that overtime would be suspended and a hiring freeze enacted. He also said more tough news would likely follow as IRS leadership negotiates with the National Treasury Employees Union, particularly because personnel costs comprise about 75 percent of the IRS costs.
In the recent budget deal, Congress cut the IRS budget by $346 million to $10.9 billion —$1.5 billion less than the administration asked for. The IRS’ budget has been reduced about $1 billion since 2010.

Koskinen says there is no more fat to cut at the IRS.

IRS ignores the law AGAIN - does business with tax delinquents despite ban:

The IRS is doing business with tax delinquent contractors despite a federal law that bars the tax agency from awarding contracts to these companies, a government watchdog said Wednesday.

The IRS awarded contracts to 17 businesses in 2012 and 2013 that had delinquent tax debts, according to a report by the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.

The tax debts totaled more than $10 million as of Sept. 30, 2013. The businesses were awarded 57 contracts worth nearly $19 million.

"Awarding contracts to corporations with federal tax debt conveys a conflicting message in relation to the IRS's mission to ensure compliance with the tax laws," the report said.

The IRS said in a statement that the contracts represented only a small fraction of the more than 20,000 contracts the agency awarded in 2012 and 2013. The statement said nine of the contractors have since paid their back taxes or enrolled in a payment plan.

IRS is a political hack operation and should be abolished and replaced with a flat percent tax on everyone including those on Welfare.

ALL taxes/fees on motor vehicles and associated activity should go to roads.

Bike taxes/fees etc should go to bike paths.

Mass transit taxes/fees should go to LRT Busses and roads.

Taxes/fees on outdoor activity should go to DNR.

Taxes/fees on dogs should go to dog parks.

etc etc etc.......

This idea of dumping all kinds of cash into a General Fund and then giving it out to the areas with the most pull in the Legislature is BS!

Having served time in the US military the food was provided by the mess hall.

Have mess halls (where needed) and feed those who need it for free. Provide prepared food only with nothing for free that can be converted to drug/alcohol/gambling etc money. What's good for the US Military is good for everyone.

If they want more GO TO WORK!!!

If they don't like the USA go back to where they came from.
