I have been consumed with ESPN's QB coverage over the past week with the Year of the QB, and Gruden's QB show, one intriguing guy that seems to be a sleeper is Tyrod Taylor from Va Tech. He looks like a good talent with strong numbers that rival most of the other QB's in the draft. Might be worth a 2nd or 3rd round pick. As far as the 12 pick goes, I really like the BC lineman and if one of the top two corners slips to the Vikes, most likely Prince, then that would be good too. I keep hearing that the draft is loaded with D line talent through the first 3 rounds so the Vikes could address that position in Round two or three. If I were the Vikes I would trade Peterson for a bunch of young talent and draft picks and go super young this year. I can stomach another horrible season with a top five pick next year they may be able to snag a Franchise QB. Plus with the infusion of talent and youth they could build a positive and sustainable future. Yes I know this would not help in the Stadium push, but lets be honest that's not looking to promising anyways, and if the team sells it's future to try and win now, what kind of product would be on the field to open the new stadium??
I also think Tyrod Taylor might be a steal when it comes to quarterback. If you look at his progression as a starter at VT, he's gotten consistently better every year. His accuracy numbers are right up there, and is arguably one of the best scramblers/rollout QB's in the draft. He could end up being a solid player at the next year.

Some of you people really make my head hurt.

Purple Nation, I've got news for ya. It doesn't matter how many No. 1's you have next year. If the team with the number 1 pick needs a QB, they're taking Luck. The guy's a once in a lifetime talent and nobody's gonna trade it for a couple of middle round 1st rounders. That's just dumb.

Purple Haze, what do you think people are going to give up for Adrian? Do you realize everyone realizes the short shelf life on RB's and thus won't give up much for them? You're simply not gonna get "a bunch of young players and draft picks".

Whomever the Vikings pick in the first round I'll guarantee you this: they will be shocked he was still available when their turn came.

Couldn't agree with you more about Peterson and his trade value; the RB position has been devalued over the last few years because of a more passer-friendly modern game. People seem to think that the Vikings will be getting a Herschel magnitude haul but that was then and times have changed. The only team that will want to trade for Peterson is a upper-tier team that is ready to make a run now, and that means a later first and/or second round draft pick; not worth it since you will just create another draft need in replacing the guy; good luck finding another RB in the draft who will be as productive; successful teams do not trade away their best players while they still have productive years remaining, only at the tail-end.

I don't like the idea of the Vikings taking a QB at #12 (in round one) unless its Gabbert, and he won't be there.

Locker at #12 is a reach, probably a huge reach. Either trade down in round one and pick up extra pick(s), or take an OT in round one and see if Stanzi or Kapernick are around in round two.

One thing's for sure: any QB we pick in this draft is NOT going to be ready to start this season.

I've been saying the same thing for weeks only my choice of QB might differ. We have to get a FA vet to come in and help install the new offense and keep things running until the QB of the future is ready. I'm not sold there even is a QB of the future available in this draft. That #12 pick can be turned into 1 potential superstar ready to go tomorrow, 2 likely starters for years to come, or a 1/100 chance of landing a QB of the future. Given our team's present condition I'm going for 2 likely starters for years to come.

Sorry man, but I'm fresh out of rat's rearends when it comes to the Viking's draft prospects. It doesn't make any difference who they get in there, they will still find a way to screw it up. So count on it, that's the legacy of this loser organization.

Please explain A; Why you care enough to comment, B; why you bother to follow the team C; What is it like to be so negative? I bet it's miserable, eh?
Thanks.

Rick Spielman is an absolute idiot!!! If there any other team in the NFL this stupid. I thought the analysts were going to fall off their chairs laughing at the 12th pick. These guys can't really be this dumb, can they??? No wonder the Vikings have never won a Super Bowl and probably never will.

I don't think you have to worry about that trade for the #1 pick. With the Viking brain trust they should get the number one pick because of their porous record this coming season.
