Nice job Minneapolis Police. You have time to setup a longtime legit person just trying to make a buck. But you can't clean up the streets of North Minneapolis where they're selling crack, guns and their sisters(again crack). Keep up the great work. Minneapolis Police keeping our streets clean of 3.2 beer since 1872.

Didn't realize Hudson, WI was part of the Minneapolis Police Department's territory.
With Hudson WI being so close to the border, many people from WI work/visit mpls even if they do not make their home in MN. And, it is within the pioneer press dist. area. The comments made in the original post seem pretty accurate.

If it was the Gang Strike Task Force they would have stolen all his beer too.

The police are not nice people.

When you buy beer from Wally, you same getting the same beer that you would get from anyone else, but I guess that's why people have made him out to being a celebrity, they don't want to face up to the fact they are suckers for buying the overpriced, warm beer in a paper cup that would cost a dollar anyplace else.

When a bar sells beer to a minor, the city revokes it's license and shuts it down.

Guess the Twins will have to find another place to play.

He broke the law, plain and simple. He even admitted it. Yet he got off because he's well known. For selling beer. Wow, what a celebrity.

The state mandates Police check alcohol vendors twice a year. The "police" are not out setting up Wally the beer man as some vast conspiricy. I have always found wally to be an arrogant @$$ and I am sure being able to stand in an air conditioned bar without having to walk up several flights of stairs and look at sneaky petes employees all day is not exactly a demotion. No Spin Zone, I am sorry that you screwed up your life, have to blame it on the Police, and sit your FAT @$$ in front a computer all day and write nonsense. GET A LIFE. I have read your idiotic comments for far too long.

No way am I a fan of no spin zone and I'm sick and tired of his blame the police for everything rants. He takes things too far and stereotypes all cops as evil. But, this case bugged me. I understand the desire to catch those who sell to underage drinkers but this was a ridiculous entrapment. Truly there are more pressing crime issues than a 19 year old sneaking past a seller with a crowd around him to get a $7 beer at a Twins game. Twins games are hardly the place that underage drinkers go to get smashed. Not to say that they don't try to buy a beer now and then, but having underage decoys, police time and then court time, to me, was a blatant waste of everyone's time and taxpayer resources. Like Wally or not, I know he checked ID's because it's required, but this time he got fooled.

Does that mean that it's "COOLER" to stay at home and write a comment on an article involving said sports employees? Must literally be cooler for you since you are in your parents basement writing this. Make sure you "hold on" to that 25 bucks there big spender.

"There was a whole group of people I knew. I asked everybody if they were 21. Everybody said yes," McNeil told reporters

I will bet that this old moron sells to minors every game he works. Does he think someone under 21 who wants a beer is going to say he isn't of age? That's why we have I.D.s. People like his smile but he has no business working in the alcohol industry.
