Thousands of fans lined up Friday for the opening of the three-day 11th annual Emerald City Comicon at the Washington State Convention Center.

Comicon had grown this year to take over the entire Washington State Convention Center.

"This year's ECCC (Emerald City Comicon) is hands-down the biggest event we have ever held," said Jim Demonakos, ECCC Convention Director.

This year's event has doubled the size of the show floor with nearly 600 exhibitors and artists. The show also features more than 20 celebrity guests, including the 1960s TV Batman and Robin, Adam West and Burt Ward. The Batman TV series first aired 47 years ago.

"They have the Dark Knight movies now. I prefer to think of myself as the Bright Knight," West quipped. "Adam and I had chemistry and we made people laugh," said Ward.

This year's Comicon includes three floors dedicated to games one more than last year a 5,000-square-foot kids area and 180 hours of programs.

Comicon continues through Sunday at the convention center.
