I can’t begin to truly convey my disdain for Fox News. Not just because I disagree with nearly everything they support, but because the channel is pure trash.
To actually call it “news” is laughable, and their tagline “Fair and Balanced” is an even bigger joke.
Now I’m not saying other stations don’t have bias, MSNBC is obviously geared more towards liberals. But there’s a massive difference between what Fox News does and what MSNBC does.
I’ll be honest, I don’t really watch mainstream news. I tend to use the internet to research what’s going on rather than have some pundit who relies on ratings telling me what’s supposedly happening. The only channel I do watch regularly is Fox News, and that’s because I’ve developed a great trick for finding out truth in news. What I do is take whatever Fox News is currently pushing, research it myself, and in that research I find the truth—which is rarely what I heard from their broadcasts.
But the main difference between MSNBC and Fox News isn’t their bias—like I said, they’re both biased. The difference is where MSNBC panders news towards liberals, Fox News will simply make stuff up to create a story. Not that MSNBC hasn’t pushed this line before as well, but this is almost a weekly occurrence on Fox.
A few studies have been done looking at the news channel people watch most, and the amount of factual information these individuals actually knew. In these studies Fox News viewers are almost always deemed the “most misinformed” of the respondents polled. Not only are they the most misinformed viewers, they were even more misinformed than those who responded that they don’t watch any news at all.
Basically, if you don’t watch any news at all, you’re more likely to correctly answer simple factual questions about our government and events going on in our nation than if you watched Fox News.
So, what does that mean? It’s simple.
It shows Fox News distorts the truth so often that watching, and trusting, their “news” actually makes people less informed than if they watched nothing at all.
Now I could give you seemingly countless examples of Fox News pulling stories out of thin air, but I’m just going to use two from last year’s Presidential race to prove my point.
Anyone remember the “You didn’t build that” line by President Obama last summer that sent Republicans into a frenzy? You should, they built their entire Presidential convention around it.
Conservative media outlets like Fox News jumped all over this line by the President. They pushed it as the “radical socialist Obama dismissing the hard work of the American business owner.”
Which sounds awful, except for the fact that they took the line completely out of context. What he was actually talking about was that working together, Americans have achieved great things. That nobody got anywhere on their own, they had help. Be it the teacher who influenced them, the parents who raised them or the roads they use to get supplies into their business—nobody gets where they are without help from others.
If you're referring to Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity, their are paid for their opinions just as Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz. Wait, Schultz lost his show.

Liberals would rather hear about the Jodi Arias trial than Benghazi, so, of course, Fox News is garbage to them. And they get to vote.

" To be Honest” Really? There wasn't a single "honest" statement made up to that point other than she distains Fox News.

"A few Studies", Care to share? No supporting links no nothing, simply pure conjecture and biased commentary and not attributed to anyone.

The best way to demonize anything is to say, "some studies" or "It has been said" because then, without having to provide any proof or documentation, you can smear, lie and in general spew hatred and no one can tie it to you because you have already distance yourself from the comment. I call it being a coward, which the original poster obviously is.

Hey dimbulb. You or I can go to ThinkProgress to post.
Neither of us can post on FOX because they don't think people have a right to their own opinions.
You are so wrong! They allow everyone who wants to have an opinion, express it, they just don't allow you to throw out a bunch of shit and expect everyone to swallow it!

WELL SAID. It's amazing how the obamamama/clintonista crowd takes the MURDER of our ambassador and his bodyguards so CHEAPLY, when we had PLENTY of military assets in the area who were willing and ABLE to rescue them.

Yeah, jets several hours away and security funding cut by the right...

Benghazi is the first time republicans pretend like they give a crap about government employees, two veterans, and a gay democrat.

Consider that both SEAL vets would have had their benefits cut, the civvies would be furloughed, and ambassador Stevens would only be considered 3/5ths of a person under the GOP.

Terrorist attack results in 4 dead Americans on American turf.

Hillary watches live as it happens and does nothing.
Obama checks out at 5:00 PM and tells others to handle it.
US Special Forces are told to stand down and not respond.

The US Government lies to cover up this tragedy.
Libs say "It's over. Move on."

It is a sad time to be an Anerican if this is the best our government has to offer.
