Bits and pieces, that's what sedimentary rocks are. Shales, sandstones, limestones, they're all just bits and pieces of other rocks: worn down, broken apart, washed away and then dumped somewhere to find a new identity.
The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
