Mount Washington hits all-time record high temp for January

Source: Associated Press

The January thaw in New England has even reached New Hampshire's Mount Washington, which recorded the all-time warmest temperature ever for the month.

Margaret Curtis from the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, says the temperature at the Mount Washington observatory hit 48 degrees at 6 a.m. Sunday, making New England's tallest mountain warmer than Phoenix and San Diego for a brief spell.

The previous record warmth for the month atop Mount Washington was 47 set on Jan. 20, 1995.

Curtis says temperatures will begin cooling across the region to more seasonable temperatures starting Monday, with the possibility of a shot of extreme cold Friday into Saturday.

You said it was cooling, did you lie, again ???

It's official - Seattle is looking and feeling a lot like summer. Seattle broke the record high for May 6 when it crossed into the 80s Monday afternoon. The previous high was 79, set in 1957.

That occurance is weather.

Minnesota lakes have set an ALL TIME RECORD for ice out.

Who cares?

A simple act would change climate NOW, ground all aircraft.

Remember a after 9/11 when planes were grounded there was an immediate change in temps in the USA.
