And the backup in case the electronic pulltabs don't produce $30,000,000 a year is (drum roll please)::

The General Fund!!

So Dayton is raising taxes on smokes to pay for the Vikings stadium.

Smoking reduces the stress on the health care system by reducing costs because smokers die younger and don't incur all of the long term late-in-life care costs that non-smokers do.

If the government wanted to stop it they should just outlaw it and give up the tax revenues. You know, be ethical.
In the process they would create a thriving black market that would create lots of tax free sources of income for people.

I just know you have proof of your theory, despite the stupidity of your statement.. Sure, years of o2 bottles, respiratory specialists, cancer treatment, and the actual cost of the cancer sticks are cheap, SMOKE MORE ..MORON !!

I just know slewpid has proof that smoking affects non-smokers health care costs as they live in to their 90's in hospice's getting chemotherapy, radiation therapy, organ transplants and the like.

Oh but wait! Slewpid never ever provides proof of he/she/its outrageous nonsensical babble. Except in the form of uncredited, plagiarized, copy/pasted paragraphs that are invalid because they are plagiarized and uncredited. Poor honey slew slew.

Funny you mention black market.

Living in Richmond Va with GIs from NYC. There were those Jews who filled the trunk of their car with cartons of butts.$2.50 a carton at the PX and he was selling in NYC for a big profit.

At some point the addicted find cheaper sometimes more dangerous butts. Black markets of tax free products will evolve.

And poor honey slew slew never ever accepts any kind of proof from others, no matter how solid, because it would be the same as admitting he/she/it were wrong, ignorant, senseless, a liar, a hypocrite, and so on. It's not easy being the low integrity, non-information, spell check queen, grammar cop, little "boi" chaser of Topix. sniff

The CEO of the MPSFC said "there are 6 or 7 backups for revenue shortfall related to electronic pull tabs".

WRONG, there are 2 backups producing about 2 million a year leaving a 30 million dollar shortfall.

And you don't know any facts.
