i knew bill and i knew anthony. Like the marine said, police officers and military DO NOT train to wound no matter what the circumstances, bill was a good cop and was only doing his job and protecting his own life. He was put in some pretty shitty situations because of the stuff that happened up there. hell, if it were me to tell you the truth, the story wouldnt have turned out any different. some fuck up coming at me with a knife or any weapon is going to have to pay the price, unfortunately, for anthony, he paid with his life. yes its sad, but you have to look on both sides of the story, people gave bill alot of shit because of the way he did his job. i talked to him from time to time and he's not a bad person. he was just put in those situations to where he had to do such things. I am going to be a police officer when i get out of the marines and i know the training is not much different there than it is here. shit happens, people do stupid shit and other people react. Red Lake PD is not bad it just has some fucked up individuals going through, but they are weeded out and dealt with accordingly. i back them 100% and have nothing on them because my career is going to revolve around them soon enough. lets hope things will change for the better.

i'm not going to be a pig im probably in better shape than you are and i sure as hell wouldnt shoot one of my own unless my life depended on it. I dont know why you are running your mouth you probably dont have a clue what goes on up in Red Lake to begin with. If u served in the military like i am now, or was a cop you would know why we arent trained to shoot to wound.

the only thing the cops ever fully handle around here is misdeamenors and sht, the felonies are handled by the FBI, so why dnt you try out for a real job and get with the FBI.

the only person in the building
who is good with a gun.
He accedently shot

Seriously some people need to get a life. Say whatever you have to say, but in the end what it all comes down to is this; no matter what, a criminal has family, and they don't seem to care that he was doing something stupid that got him killed. All I really have to say is that one day the officer may be arresting your family member, and the next helping out another member of your family. The things these guys go through day after day here on the reservation is enough to make just about anybody quit the job, and yet they keep coming in to work, protecting people who could care less about them and say venomous things about them every chance they get...yet still the officers go help them out the best they can when their venomous tongue gets them in trouble with somebody else here.

Cut us a little slack here, perhaps like somebody else said quite a bit earlier, inquire about a ride along, and see what we go through. We actually do have a community policing program we still need people to sign up for, you get to have a few hours of a ride along with one of the sergeants, and after-wards you help police your community, be it Red Lake, Little Rock, Shemahgun, Battle River, or Ponemah. Come see what we deal with for a few hours sometime, I can assure you that if you're on a ride-along and its a regular night... you may not be so quick to make judgments about the Red Lake Police Department so quickly.

Crime is out of control on Red Lake because there can be no state policing on this reservation. It is either Tribal or Federal. The Feds prosecuted 9 cases last year. Gang activity is on the rise. There is a lack of education and recourses to enforce laws. Tribal law are a joke anyway. Check it out if you don't believe me. Conditions are ripe for corruption.
I know Mr. White. He acted appropriately. He simply ended the existence of a dirt bag. Sorry for the family but there is probably where the problem lies.
Mr white has been threatened by the scumb bag gang bangers from Red Lake.
Some moron in an earlier thread said that they moved back to Red Lake from Bemidji because of all the crime in Bemidji. What a crock of BS! the crime rate in Red Lake rivals any area in the US.
The only reason they moved back to Red Lake is because they couldn't make it in the real world.

reading all the posts on this almost three years later.sounds like theres alot of different veiws on the ive never changed my veiws on the tragedy.and nothing will change them.bill white is now back on the reservation?what wanting his job back?shoot and kill another redlake member?add more to his kill count?i think he has done enough on that issue.time to take yourself back to your family in hiding mr.white.because i dont want anyone getting charged with anything involving a bill white.if someone was to shoot a bill white in the back eight times i kno for damn shure it wouldnt be ruled justified

I think this happens on all reservations, you have good tribal cops and bad ones. The bad ones need to work for the white world. And they are probably on the rez because nobody else would hire them, we have some on our Rez in FDL.

so reading all these posts I think to myself yea the pd does need some improvements but what one don't. These men and women are putting their lives on the line every time they come into work. I think they do a good job serving the communities around R.L. And I am here on a daily basis 24/7.. Now what the RL_Dispatch said bout the Ride-along that seems cool..But How can I get one with Kendall.;) lol Just Saying..
