It's time to think honestly about the Twins. Shooter is on to something here. It may not be so hard to get a ticket for a summer game at Target Field.

This team will be the new Pittsburgh Pirates. Unfortunately Gardenhire won't be fired this season as he has the injury excuse. 2012 I predict he'll finally be mercifully gone with his passionless persona. Nathan is done. Morneau is like Culpepper after his injury; crummy and done. Cuddyer is overrated and overpaid and will be gone. Thome will retire. Cut bait now and go with rookies.

if they lose again tonight, i may have to take some time off. pathetic, lifeless baseball is no fun to watch and even tougher to route for. unfortunately, it's hard to see any major improvements any time soon. Morneau may be done as a impact player, Mauer can't stay on the field, cuddy is having a typical, underperforming year, middle infield is a joke and the pitching staff is what we thought they were (which is bad). Forget deadline deals, they should put all of the players mentioned in this article on the block right now. This team is in trouble...

deal cuddyer for whatever you can get-possibly a reserve infielder or late reliever.

I'd rather see a bunch of AA and AAA rookies who have a desire to play than a bunch of pampered, overrated fat cats who think they don't need to try anymore.

You know the Kool-Aid drinkers don't like you saying such things about Cuddyer, despite the fact that you are absolutely right. Trade him for whatever you can get.

The biggest issue facing is the $180 million dollar on the books to the weak kneed, too big for his position, hometown boy and the fragile 1st baseman. At least Cuddyer is in their playing everyday. What a bunch of pampered, guttless players. Who's to blame? The big mouth coach who continues to get tossed out of games. Maybe set as high of expectations for your players as you do for the umpires.

all the above are true--- but remember the staff--vavra anderson gardenhire et.al have a history of ruining young prospects who leave and later become solid players under competant coaching staffs. it's useless to rebuild untill the whole staff is replaced and that includes kelly especially. he hired this bunch of clowns! the twins need a new broom and a sweeper.

the yankees broke the twinkies backs in last years playoffs. These losers will never be the same. The Yanks beaned Thome and Gardy was too weak to retaliate.

This team reminds me a lot of a certain football squad that wears purple. no off season improvments, aging players who just dont have it anymore, injuries, stuborn front office and coaching staff. get ready for a long season.

For what it's worth department: In 1991; the Twins started the year on not so good a run; if I remember correctly. However; when the slump quit, they went on to win the World Series for the second time in a few short years. So; let's not get too excited about moves or panic attacks yet. If at the All Star break, they are at the bottom--then start fretting, worrying and bitching. They are just having a bad start for now.

i agree. but in 1991, they started 2-9, and maybe the best Twins team ever. it's a long season.

Add Casilla to the list. He is literally playing for his future but on a shorter leash. If he does not start to hit and show more consistency in the field in the next month, his career will finally be properly defined as a utility infielder. Look for Plouffe to get his chance to prove he is an every day player in June, if not sooner.

The reason good ole Glen and ramblin rambo didn;t show up for Love's award is because they are such complete failures in basketball knowledge. Too embarrased to dare show up!:-)

I think it's amazing how this team has gone steadily downhill since Bill Smith was put in charge.
