OK, couple of things. One, we are not all equal. Some have more talent and ability than others. That is a good thing, because not everyone is going to be able to be CEO of Microsoft.
We need those who have less talent/ability to work their asses off to make the most money they can, commensurate with their abilities, just as we expect those with more talent/ablity to do the same. That is what makes our society work. Equal Opportunity, not Equality!!
Second, we need to take education back to teaching basics. Our schools are not the means to social change, they are there to educate. Let the Churches, and the Politicians create the social change, outside of Education. If we put the pressure on the students to learn, do homework, pass tests, be challenged, instead of telling them they are all good and pass everyone for fear of social stigma or whatever. When we get back to this, many of the so called "social" problems will be solved.
Oh, and in schools themselves, put the talented people with the talented people and put the less talented with the less talented. Then set the bar just a little bit higher than each can reach. Competition among peers creates excellence and hard work. No evaluations for school performance based on graduation rates, but on how many children met the challenge. Make graduation mean something, not just given to as proof you were born.

Our Leftist friends will scoff at what you wrote and say you are a dinosaur.

The sad part is that they are right on the name calling. You - and other people who believe in personal responsibility and personal achievement - are not in sync with the current Moocher Mentality of the Leftists in the USA.

One key phrase from what you wrote above:“That is what makes our society work. Equal Opportunity, not Equality!!”

No one is guaranteed equal results. Everyone is guaranteed an equal opportunity.

We need to get back to what made this country great. Unless we make a huge shift in the philosophical make-up of those elected today, we will be doomed to become just another 3rd World Nation.
