Psst....that's a canard. Health care premiumns are determined - and approved by regulators - up to 2 years in advance. HCF passed this year - thus any rate increases you've seen were determined in 2008 or 2009 by the insurers. Plus we won't see any affect on the rates until the full HCR is enacted.
Don't be a stooge.
idiotic. Premiums are not determined in advance. These are a business like anyone else....there costs go up and our premiums go up. Welcome to Obamacare with premium increases and tax increases.

"It's not enough to be loud. You have to work with people on the other side of the aisle to actually find solutions," Clark said.

Seriously? She said this with a straight face? Look back at the past two years and tell me who has been the party of NOT reaching across the isle to include the other party. The dems have openly shunned the GOP on every big decision there has been and since the GOP actually grew past the fillibuster proof road block and started to actually force that cross isle debate or consideration the Dems have spared no effort to paint it as the GOP being the party of NO.

Vote Bachmann to Keep Woodbury the Highest Foreclousre rate in Minnesota.

I mean seriously what has Michele Bachmann truly done for the 6th district? I am surprised she is even hanging out in the district right now. Apparently all the slots on FOX news are currently filled. She has insulted hunters and sportspeople and called conservative Ron Schara a liar. She will sell out the good people of Minnesota in a second for a spot on FOX news or a big contribution from an Oil Company or WallStreet Hedge Fund. It is pathetic really that people are clueless to what is really going on with this Diva and her self-serving agenda.

Michele Bachmann remains silent on violence aimed at women.

I have yet to see Michele Bachmann denounce the recent Teaparty brutality against women, especially the woman that was stomped in the head by supporters of teaparty candidate Rand Paul two days ago. The video is truly appalling.

What has Bachmann done for her 6th district?

I checked her record and a rock could take her place with a no sign on it. Most politicking she has done in the past few years was to help get a pay increase for herself in Congress. With all the foreign money she has recieved from out-sourcing companies to India and China, she mostly cares about getting on FOX news or smooching with former President George Bush.

No - you are incorrect - premiums are determined a year or two in advance to being charged by insurers since they have to be filed and approved by regulators who go over the actuarial numbers showing the loss ratios - like here in MN companies must pay out a certain percent of premiums towards claims, so premiums are based on expected claim costs.

And by the way, the Obama tax cuts were the largest in recent history.

All of it is the nuclear fallout from failed Bush policies and deregulation. Unfortunately. Democrats are trying to clean up the mess, but it will take time.

I've gone through this entire thread and saw enough about the fabulous Obama tax cut, and I've finally had to say something.

Anyone believing that was a tax cut either doesn't do their own taxes or knows nothing about income taxes, period.

Federal income tax WITHHOLDINGS were indeed, cut. However, at the end of the year, tax tables were not adjusted to reflect the reduction. Hence, no real tax cut. Instead, the feds, using STIMULUS money (ie: money not even really there) SOME, not all, got a $800 tax credit. I don't know about you , but my middle income family of 4 came out WORSE in 2009 than we have in many, many years, even with the credit.

Oh, and by the way, this fabulous "tax cut" was only valid through 2009. There is no fake tax cut for 2010 so you're wrong about the largest "recent" tax cut. There isn't one now, and never really was one.

It's hillarious listening to a Democrat tell us how she's going to "create jobs". They've fully exposed their marxist agenda, and it's failed miserably at the state (CA) and federal level, and added another 3.5 trillion to our children's dept burden. The Demonrats have owned Congress since 2006, and destroyed the economy. Their failed "new deal" programs such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have destroyed the nation's solvency. This woman blames Bachman for "outsourcing jobs", which is hilarious. Apparently, she doesn't understand that her beloved Democrat Party has so destroyed the business environment with punitive taxation, regulation, ObamaCare, and litigation that companies will do anything not to hire, and it's much cheaper to outsource work. I wonder how this brilliant woman's going to turn that around? Let me guess - raise taxes, increase regulation, impose ridiculous EPA standards on manufacturing, etc, etc. The Democrat Party is nothing but the Party of union greed, and greed by the parasites who elect politicians who will steal from the producers and redistribute it to the bottom feeders. It's quite simple. GO BACHMAN!!

Govt does not regulate the premiums of Obamacare, they regulate the coverage. Obamacare has mandated more coverage so obviously rates have skyrocketed as they have done the last 6 months. Plus a trillion dollar new entitlement means your taxes have gone up too....Sorry Obama can't pay your mortgage or pay your college loans either. Enjoy all the new taxes in 2011

Here is my response to your "asnine" comment regarding the radical woman MOVEON.org terrorist at the Rand Paul debate.

This woman was a radical activist from MOVEON.org , wearing a wig, trying to provoke Rand Paul supporters, or possibly worse motives. Gee, imagine that? There just happened to be another MOVEON.org supporter there with a camera filming her confrontation. It's suprising to me that once she was found out to be a radical MOVEON.org terrorist with a wig that she was not shot. Sorry to say but she got everything she deserved, because she knew full well what she was trying to accomplish and get filmed. You can't beat them Red Wing work boots! "Can't we all get along"?

You're correct. It took the democrats almost 4 years to create the mess. The republicans will need to be given time to clean in up. Thank God November 2 is just around the corner so they can get started!

In the height of the oil spill fiasco in the gulf, Bachmann stated that we (the USA} are making BP pay too much for the cleanup. This was a statement made by an air head and she has never been challenged on it during one of the debates.

I would really like to know what Bush did to get us into this mess.

Was it lower taxes? Not enough spending? Two Wars that a democratic congress agreed with? What?

Betsy what I want to know from you is why have my BCBS Family Medical Insurance Premiums gone up from 6% to 10% every year for the last 10 years, that does not include the increased premiums my company pays for my company plan. This year I have also seen two increases to my medical premiums due to a change in my wife's age and my age. As for my company, as of January 1st 2011, we are looking at another 8% employee premium increase. My company is actually talking of dropping employee health insurance, because the penalty for dropping it under Obama Care is currently half the cost of our companies share of our health care premiums. Yes, that Obama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Bill is a lot of Hope and Change alright.

Secondly, can you tell me what Obama tax cuts were the largest in recent history?
