You know how the left would have played that!
Evil big corporations busting unions!

The government comes in and does it and it is OK. By that I mean how many automobile divisions AND dealerships were done away with after different management was put in place.
The auto companies did bring it on themselves by not having the gonads to do what was needed before it got that bad. That being bankruptcy and re-organize as you said.

How many deficits records , poverty records, unemployment records does Obama have to set for you to concede utter failure. Obama's campaign should of been I will make it all worse.
Not even close to answering my question, but I know how tough the question was. I just wasn't expecting that no one would even take a shot at it.

You got your answer , like a liberal you can't handle it.
High energy crushes the poor and middle class more than anything else. Obamacare is a red tape nightmare, the stimulus was a bust ....Obama owns these policies along with record poverty and record deficits.
You answered with bumpersticker slogans, not anything close a valid attempt at an answer. I know it's a tough question, but I didn't think it was that tough...,

So you've been president for a few months, and you are gonna let GM go into bankruptcy and have a good chance of putting 10's of thousands of workers out work?
You would let AIG collaspe, and maybe take half the US financial system with it?
You want to be a one-term president on purpose?

It takes more energy to duck and cover from the awful truth, than it does to face the awful truth.

More for the African Dependents at any cost, should be the "Bumper Sticker" FOR ALL YOU DEPENDENT DEMOKRAT VICTIMS.

Bob,
All the "stuff going on" was a result of a takeover of the Legislature by the Collectivist Demokrats in 2006, and the certainty of the Erection of your Messiah in 2008....Markets tend to "Forecast"....and the "Forecast" of a Socialist/Collectivist assuming the role of Teleprompter-Reader-in-Chief is EXACTLY what caused the decline and degradation of the Marketplace.
Kinda getting off my original question (which you haven't answered, btw), but here's two questions for you:
Why did the democrats overwhelmingly win so many seats in both houses in 2006?
What exactly did the 'Collectivist' democrats do that caused the worldwide recession of 2007?

What does any of that have to do with the Obama records in debt, poverty, unemployment and energy prices?

no I would not borrow money to keep a company from making the hard decisions, they would have filed bankruptcy like they did , re-organize and get back on their feet like thousands of companies have without the preferential treatment.

Sorry, but you are using 2012 knowledge that wasn't available back in 2008.
Thousands of other companies do not 'get back on their feet' after bankruptcy.
"GM -- which hasn't made a profit since 2004 -- declared in its filing that it had $172 billion in debt and $82 billion in assets."
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1243854286276...

There was no guarentee that GM would survive bankruptcy. GM was the second largest bankruptcy in US history. This was happening just a few months into obama's term.

My original question goes unanswered. Isn't there one amongst all you smart brave guys willing to take it on? Surely you all have an idea what you would have done differently back in January of 2008?

The question was answered precisely.

You seem to look for excuses for failure of Obamanomics and he has wiped out the middle class.

When we needed jobs we got Obamacare, when we needed jobs we got a failed simulus. Now we have record poverty, debt and unemployment.

bad decisions I did not make should not come out of my pocket, No there is no way of making sure a company, a private company manages itself, chrysler is still making sub par cars and has had two bailouts so far in my life. I am not blaming obama, it would have probably happened under any president, The usa is broke and borrowing money to give/borrow to others.

JW is the only one here giving it a shot.
Let me post it again:
"What would you do if you were president on January 20. 2008? What decisions would you have done differently with the US and world economy about to blow up?"
Can you see why "lower taxes, cheap energy, more jobs, less government" doesn't even begin to cover the problems that Obama was facing, i.e. AIG, Lehman, TARP, GM, Chysler, the bank stabilization/bailout, foreclosures, the european banks, etc....
If you only have bumpersticker slogans for answers, thanks but no thanks.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Taurus

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
