Ward 1: The incumbent DFLer is Kevin Reich. Mark Fox has been in the running for a while, but he isn’t really running. It’s never quite clear, to me, whether candidates like Vincent Coffeen are trying to make some sort of statement about politics, or are just having fun, of a sort. Maybe both?
Ward 2: By all accounts the incumbent, Green Partier Cam Gordon, enjoys strong support. His challenger is Diana Newberry (Socialist Workers Party), whose online presence needs a boost, or at least something.
Ward 3: DFL incumbent Diane Hofstede is facing the hard-charging, DFL-endorsed Jacob Frey campaign. I wrote about Hofstede’s possibly considerable headwinds, here. The Green Party candidate is Kristina Gronquist. The other name on the list is Michael Katch. Here’s what turned up for him, in my search.
Ward 4: Barb Johnson is the DFL-endorsed incumbent and current Council President. Another DFLer, Kris Brogan, is on the list, but I found no recent indication that she’s campaigning with any vigor, if at all. This may be the Dan Niesen who joined late.
