Mr. Palmer is solely responsible for his stupid and dangerous actions. The vast majority of legal gun owners would never do something that stupid.

No, it took some busybody with a nanny state mentality and an anti-smoking zealot to be so dumb.

Moral of the story...MYOB! Don't tell others how to live.

Although the story did not elaborate, it's a good bet that this fool did not have any formal firearms training and was not legally carrying.(ie...no permit)

Forty years plus ago that guy would have just looked at her and moved on. Since many moms and dads were smokers back then. And it was thought to be no big deal about smoking.

Back then, folks didn't know that smoking is dangerous. Especially to fetuses and infants, & small kids.

Yes, if a fetus, small kid, or infant smoke it is definitely bad for them. Just like for adults. However, there is really no established cause and effect relationship regarding the whole second hand smoke issue. Most of that so called evidence was just a bunch of studies based on other studies based on other studies and so on. And then driven by a media frenzy and huge marketing campaign funded by the lawsuit money gleaned from the tobacco companies.

I was referring to the smoke the expectant mom breathes in. Be she the smoker and or being around a smoker in the dwelling or vehicle. As well as the second hand smoke that is present in the air where a kid is.
