What began as a peaceful protest of the shooting of an 18-year-old unarmed black man by a police officer in a St. Louis suburb turned into what the town's mayor called a "huge mess" as several businesses were looted and cars were vandalized.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday evening in Ferguson, Mo. for Michael Brown, whom witnesses and authorities said was shot several times by an officer who had scuffled with the teen and another person.

Afterward, some people looted a convenience store. Several other stores along a main road near the shooting scene were broken into and looted, including a check-cashing store, a boutique and a small grocery store.

People were seen carrying bags of food and toilet paper. TV footage showed streams of people walking out of a liquor store carrying bottles of alcohol, and in some cases protesters were standing atop police cars or taunting officers who stood stoic, often in riot gear.

Other witnesses reported seeing people vandalize police cars and kick in windows. Television footage showed windows busted out of a TV station van.

The Africans are crying that there is no black cops in their community. If black males could make it past the 8th grade there might be more black cops.

Four nights of looting, rioting and a shooting and the Democrat Governor does nothing! This is what you get when you vote 'D.'

Eric Holder's Justice Department has dispatched its "Community Relations Service" to the scene of racially charged unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.

This is the SAME "Community Relations Service" which intervened in the Trayvon Martin case in Florida, helping ORGANIZE protests that pressed for the prosecution of George Zimmerman, who later was acquitted by a jury of murder.

Robbery doesn't justify shooting, but explains officer's heightened alert, expert says

“A police officer making a stop of just a couple of guys walking down the street is very different from an officer stopping a couple of guys who just committed a robbery,” said David Klinger, a criminal justice professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

The Gentle Giant's friends:

The city of Ferguson, Missouri has descended into chaos again as rioters have broken into and looted multiple businesses, including the store Michael Brown robbed the day of his death—even assaulting journalists and citizens who have stood up to them and protected the buildings from further destruction.

There is no excuse for the looting, and there is no excuse for the police to allow it. And, if Michael Brown was actually running away from police there was NO excuse to shoot. Were they too lazy to chase after a 260 lb. kid?(just wondering, not judging)

Are you responding to my direct quote from the St Louis newspaper, or attempting to deflect from the fact that the "Gentle Giant", as the media has portrayed him, really was a thug?

Are you responding to the direct quote from the St Louis newspaper, or attempting to deflect from the fact that the Gentle Giant was nothing but a made up attempt by the media to create another situation just like they did with Trayvon Martin?

Autopsy shows that the officer was a poor shot. Six hits, all left of center mass.
