Port of Oakland employees ratified a 4-year contract, ending a labor dispute that included a one-day port shutdown last month, union officials said.

Members of SEIU 1021, the largest union at the port, overwhelmingly approved the contract touted as a "no-concessions contract," union leaders said Sunday.

The union's roughly 200 members perform jobs ranging from maintenance, electrical work and custodial duties to security. The contract gives pay increases that equal new pension contributions, a $3,500 signing bonus and a 2.5 percent cost-of-living increase.

The contract will now need to be approved by the Board of Port Commissioners, which controls and manages the port.
